An Imperial class Mk I or II Star Destroyer is not capable of atmospheric travel. However, if it did hit such an object, in space for example, it's multi-layered armoured hull would protect it from such an impact, and if the shields/deflectors were up there would be no damage or even a scratch to the hull at al! An attack squadron of 6 I-class Star Destroyers plus escorts (4x Carrack class cruisers each) would be able to flatten an entire continent in a few hours quite easily! A planet in a day!

Good video, but two things that were done wrong:

1. Star destroyers are 1 mile long

2. They can pull 2500 Gs! So this one was by far too slow!

@AVIATIO They *never* are portrayed having that kind of acceleration in the movies. And 2500 Gs of acceleration equals an acceleration of 24 km/s. A mile-long spacecraft going that fast that low through the Earth's atmosphere would create a fireball of superheated plasma around the ship that would incinerate the city below it, not to mention the damage caused by the shockwave of all that displaced air. So that would be pretty ridiculous on multiple counts.

Huh? Star Destroyers are ridiculously fast. They only appear to be going slow in the movies because you see them against the vastness of space. If anything, the Star Destroyer in this vid is FAR too small and moving FAR too slow.
