His improv is going up and down segments of scales. and so what if he's the richest saxophone player. What does that have to do with anything that I said in the previous comment, and Christmas albums by soprano saxophone players aren't really cared about anymore. Go listen to some REAL JAZZ like Coltrane, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, or Dexter Gordon and get back to me.

@MASSgolf7007 He makes a living off of what he loves to do. Thats all I am saying, so why hate on a guy who can do that? And I'm lead alto at my Universitys jazz band so I know a little about jazz. And to play jazz successfully, you have to listen to it. I listen to Charlie Bird Parker on a daily basis my friend. Cannonball Adderly, and charles Mingus band to name a few.

@Saxmax1988 that's true. I saw people say they don't think he's a beast. Maybe, based off of how he plays, he's not a technical beast like Michael Brecker or Branford Marsallis, but he has a dedicated fan base and has sold millions of CD units. Jazz musicians are often selfish because many of them are trying to impress other jazz musicians... we can't forget that the average, non-musician listener is who will buy our CDs and put food on our table, not other musicians.

Do you hear his music on straight ahead jazz radio stations??? NO!! He's not trying to be a jazz artist, but a smooth jazz and adult contemporary music artist... there's a difference. Kenny G has been doing his thing for 35 years give or take a few. He has sold a bazillion records all over the world and has perfromed live world wide as well. All of you know this, all of you have taken time out of your precious little lives to know Kenny G, & now you sit behind a keyboard and talk all of your trash, yet I would hazzard a guess and say while you know his name I doubt he has had the time nor the inclination to learn yours & he could probably care less.

An individual that I have a great deal of respect for had the rare opportunity to listen to Kenny G playing "straight-ahead Jazz.. He was flabbergasted!!! Poor Kenny, is reduced to being "Kenny G".
