I only hope the yarn was 100% wool because acrylic is heavy and not as warm as wool.

What is the Pencil Project?
Great idea to use the panels to make blankets for the homeless afterward! I crochet or knit squares for the Linus project (for hospitalized, chronically ill, or dying children) and Warm up America projects as often as I can. Every time you make a swatch for a new project, just make sure it's the size they need for one of the blanket projects, and when you no longer need the swatch, donate it to a group assembling blankets for one of these projects!

This is an awesome project. I am sure that those who received the blankets made from this are truly grateful for the time and energy used on this project! We ALL need to do MORE to help those who have need SO MUCH! BRAVO!!!

the cozy was crochet for the Pencil Awards (you can google to find out about the Pencil award) and the project was spearheaded by Robyn Love (you can google her, too!) and find her blog, and her web page .
the Yarn/color was Vanna's Choice in a Pencil yellow (with a the top of the water tower in white (the wood) and black (the lead)

I agree! What a waste of time and money or maybe you got a good deal on the ugly color. Why not donate to a children's hospital or something like that.
