@TURKBOSNA iran used to be majority sunni before , because majority of those living in iran were non-iranian ethnic groups i.e. arabs and turks, later mongolians came and drove them out, which later gave safavids the chance to take and recover the country that was lost. most of the scholars who were butchered were foreign scholars who imported from arab lands. and today there is only 9-7% or one eleventh of sunnis in iran left and they are near borders. its not shiah but sunni that leads to hell

the reason theres no revolution like 1979 is because in 1979 the United States sanctioned and BACKED the revolution, and told the pussy shah to sit tight and not fire on protesters...so what happened was they took over. If Shah wanted to he could have crushed that rebellion in one day and ended the revolution for good. Most of those killed '77-79 (approximately 2,781 people a very low number given the circumstances) were killed by untrained recruits; the Shah's regime was too self-confident and thus didn't have riot-control police (believing the people loved the Shah too much to protest) and was caught off guard.
