yea, we aren't allowed to spar much, but we do study Dim Mak, and other things.... I do like trapping. Isshinryu, true Isshinryu is, maiming, killing with the least amount of effort. I am older, and female, I like it..., but I am glad I know other things. Sometimes peeps are just stupid, and just need to go down, without death.
This is the way of representing a team keep going we will see you guys in oct.26 2008 open is the way.traditional is good but not as exiting as open naska or iska good people to be around good job guys take care. to does don't know about styles does uniforms they feel like your not restring and they look cool .
Ok, still doesn't resemble Isshinryu much. Seems pointless to me, but then we don't spar much in our dojo or go to many tournaments Seems like sparring degenerates into just wholesale punching and kicking, and we always get in trouble at Tourns for 'unnecessary roughness'.
Yeah, I know what you mean. When it comes to open tournaments (NASKA/ISKA rules) the sparring is like that.
Go see my other point sparring highlight video to see how we fight in tournaments. Also check the Wansu bunkai I put so you can see what we really practice in our dojo and the self-defense exhibition as well.
Hi congrats on the tournament I'm very proud to be in the isshinryu system specially from Puerto Rico I have seen you since you were a little boy growing up to be one of the best karatekas that i know keep doing what your doing that you are the future of isshinryu and i will be supporting you. cuidate good luck Tell your father Javier Hi hope to see you guys soon. is david diaz from guayama
What happens is that today styles use names like that Isshinryu and stuff, but they name it after their traditional karate base. Mostly used for forms and to have a system to practice traditional karate, to perform traditional and worldwide known forms. These same teams perform freestyle and acrobatic forms. But when it comes to fighting, they dont use true Ishiinryu, they switch to fresstyle fighting, that is, completly diffrent from traditional fighting.

Did i miss something? Isn't this supposed to be Isshinryu? Whats the deal with all the kicks to the head? What happened with 'low' kicks?

It's point sparring, low kicks aren't allowed. Modern Sport Karate competition!
