  • Well right now probley not as i am a little straped for cash because i have to save for a snowshack buisness im working on right now and that will take about $1000 dollars.

  • @drummer123apple That's fine, I understand. Can't be breaking the bank if you have more important things to invest into.

  • I plan on buying two wuhan splashes and using them as x hats.

  • @drummer123apple Sounds like a good plan. I just tried out the old 16" Wuhan china on my kit, and it's official, I've been won over to larger chinas. Really don't think I have any use for it anymore, too small for me. I need something deeper. I would try a Stagg 22" Traditional Lion china, but that runs for about $150 when I could get a 22" china for $100 from the same site I got the 27".

  • @drummer123apple Would you be interested in purchasing the Wuhan 18" ozone crash as well?

  • Yep. After shopping around that is a great price

  • @drummer123apple I agree. Glad I found the Black Metal crashes and hats for a price lower than normal, but I don't think I'll go for the hi-hats. If it wasn't for the fact most Stagg hi-hats retail for around $220 I'd go for them. I'll probably just try some Dream Bliss hats since those are $150. I was thinking as a way to help downsize my kit I'd try some Stagg 12" DH hi-hats, but I think 12" is a bit too small for primary hi-hats.

  • Sweet! Hope it works out for you man. Im very excited to buy the wuhans. It'll probley be about 3-4 weeks before ill have enough money. How much will shipping cost me?

  • @drummer123apple Thanks Andrew, I certainly hope so too, I'd hate to have just wasted well over a hundred dollars. That's fine, I'll try to go easy on the Wuhans for now. $175 will be the full price with the 16" china included.

  • @drummer123apple I'm considering attempting to turn the 27" china into a holy china, like Sabian's, but I really don't know how it would after being filled with holes. It already has an incredibly lengthy amount of decay and sustain due to its large size.

  • @WhenxChristxReturnsx i wouldnt as it would weaken the volume and just probley wouldnt sound good. Im very excited to get the wuhans. I should have the money by next week. I'll have to pass on the china as i will not have enough and i need a bass head.

  • @drummer123apple I think may just leave the china as it is. That's fine, no rush for the money. $150 will be your total price. I'm still not entirely sure what I'll do for hi-hats. I'd like to get some Staggs but $220 just doesn't sit right with me, and the 12" hats concept is still lingering in the back of my mind, although it seems unfavorable. I DID decide today I'll eventually get DH splashes, they seem fairly clean unlike many of Stagg's other splashes.

  • ooops sorty for double post....alrights sounds good....ill probley sell the b8 crashes for whatrver i can.....im so mad at myself for.buying them

  • @drummer123apple It doesn't seem like a bad decision aside from the fact they aren't exactly amazing, sound-wise. At least they're made properly and not sent out with defects and dents.

  • they were the old ones

  • They were the old ones. Hey if u still have it layin around i was wondering if u could maybe include the 16 inch china that u only used for a short time

  • @drummer123apple The new ones sound nice but the hi-hats may be a bit too dry for my taste. Certainly hope the crashes aren't, I'm about to order one. Yeah I could do that. That would raise the price by $25 though.

  • I tried the BM series a few months ago in a local music store and the crashes werr very dark and loud and the ride almost sounds like it has rivets

  • @drummer123apple Were they the new models that are lathed around the edge and bells? I think the new crashes sound nice, but there is no 19" crash from the BM series, and an 18" BM crash might be too small for my tastes for riding on.

  • @drummer123apple I ordered an 18" Black Metal crash, really hoping it'll be one of the new models. If not I'll send it back and invest into Furia or DH cymbals from Stagg. If It is, I'll see if it suits my tastes as a crash/ride, and if it doesn't I'll save up for the ride and use that as a crash/ride instead.

  • thats a pretty good price

  • well what i planned on doing was giving the money to my parents and have them order it

  • @drummer123apple Chances are one of your parents has a paypal account. If they do, there shouldn't be a problem with payment/ordering. Right now I'm having a lot of trouble picking what Stagg cymbals I want to choose. Furia, Classic, Black Metal, DH, DH Exo. The main problem is I want a Stagg crash/ride, crash and hats but feel $192 is a bit high for a 19" crash/ride, so I'm considering an 18" crash/ride instead. I'd try one from the BM series, but am afraid I wouldn't like the dryness.

  • Ok it would probley be through paypal or something not to sure how any of this works.....shoot me an offer

  • @drummer123apple Paypal is a site that allows you to conduct online payment for purchases made via credit cards, from an internet site like ebay of course. Before I got my own paypal account my dad would purchase what I wanted via ebay and then I would give him the money for the purchase.

  • @drummer123apple How does $150 sound?

  • Hey i know ur still using them and all but i really want to buy the wuhan pack from you. It would be around a month untill im ready to buy em though.

  • @drummer123apple I would need some sort of 'official' way to receive payment, or payment first. Had too many times when the money was never received or went to the wrong person when it isn't done through Paypal or something like that. How much would you be willing to pay for them? The cymbals are still in pretty good shape.

  • woah we have the same computer

  • @mongoosebootrrider Whoa O.o

  • Dude if u want to darken the tone of ur myras cuz I know they were a little to bright for you if to raise up ur cymbal and go around the bottom with a lighter.........take your time doin it all the black marks will wash away

  • @drummer123apple I use a blow torch when I make cymbals. ;D Better than a lighter I'd think!

But it will ruin the finish of that side of your cymbal if you do that. At least with the blow torch... I can't see a little lighter doing much to a thick Myra cymbal. On my hats and ride, I always have a little piece of sticky tack. You should try it, the difference is awesome! Doesn't dampening the cymbal completely like a moongel would, it's just right!

  • @OneTakeJesus I may try that, I wouldn't mind having a cymbal with a dark finish. I saw a video the other day for a raw ride cymbal by Wuhan, but it's the only video/information I could find on it, must be a prototype or something. I've been itching to try some Stagg Black Metal cymbals.

  • @WhenxChristxReturnsx Keep in mind if you'd want to keep the cymbal's finish as dark as it would be, the rule of thumb is to wait at least a month for the molecules to reform and shape around the "damage" done. Or else it will literally sound dead! I have cymbals that don't make noises... It's a very possible outcome, so I always wait a month or two to play it again.

  • @OneTakeJesus Interesting. I wonder what a china cymbal with a raw finish would sound like.

  • Yeah for now ill probley have to get a sabian xs20 untill I can upgrade

  • @drummer123apple Those aren't bad cymbals. Any plans on what you'll eventually get once you upgrade from those?

  • Wow that sucks. I haven't had any problems with my Wuhans yet. But yeah I don't blame you.

  • Well turns out I wont be getting anymore cymbals from wuhan as my 16 inch crash has cracked where the hammering was flawed....it sounds very sizzley now....i just don't want to have to buy new cymbals once every two months

  • @drummer123apple To pick Wuhan over AAXPlosions in my opinion is not the best move. I will never argue that sound matters over price. Because it does. But the craftsmanship when it comes to Wuhan cymbals, it's really a hit and miss. There are many flaws on my Wuhan cymbals. There is really no final process in production. It's just make the cymbal, ship it. Nobody checks for flaws.

  • @OneTakeJesus I agree with you. They do seem to be made that way, what with the X-formation I drilled out of the 18" crash and the horribly deformed 16" china, but when you can't afford AAX's the Wuhans certainly are more appealing. However, if price is no problem, then yes it's better to get something that's made properly. I'll be slowly switching to Stagg. I have seen some cymbals from them that had some flaws, but very few. They seem durable also, my Stagg Myra's are still in great shape.

  • @WhenxChristxReturnsx Right on. Budget cymbals right there. It'd be a whole lot better to buy them in a store, because none of them sound the same really.

I'm so excited that I'm switching to Sabian again! I won an auction last night on Ebay and got a brand new pair of brilliant 13" HHX X-Celerator hats!! Payed 190 for a 400 dollar pair of cymbals! I'm heading towards my dream china next.. 22 inch HH Dark Chinese. Oh baby!

  • @OneTakeJesus Very true, I can't agree with you more. When it comes to cymbals, it's always best to try them in person before buying, but that's what sucks about Stagg and Wuhan, no one around here sells them. Wow man that's an incredible bargain! I may have to check out that china. It's kind of ironic you mention a 22" one, I've been thinking and after the 27" china breaks I'll try a 22". That 27 incher has gotten me hooked on the sound of big chinas :3

  • @WhenxChristxReturnsx After I got my first 18 inch china, I was still unhappy! Wanted something MORE! Got a 20 inch, and now I wanna go 20 inch on the left, 22 on the right. I'm kinda tired of my Wuhan china though. For me, I want something that sings! Not an incredibly fast decay. Even when I play in my Jazz/fusion band, I would prefer a less trashy china cymbal to ride on.

  • @OneTakeJesus That's one thing I dislike about Wuhan chinas, their fast decay. I prefer chinas as trashy as they come. Stagg SH chinas, too bright for me, a bit too clean also, DH chinas, trashier but still not enough, Stagg Traditional Lion chinas, now THOSE are trashy enough. But for now I'll stick with the no-name one I'm using.

  • I definitly love the explosive sound wuhans have......i could also get the rock hats....

  • @drummer123apple The rock hats might be a bit louder and brighter, not too sure. But I really dig the sound of Wuhan's hi-hats, really crisp and well defined.

  • Hmmm im trying to decide if I want to just go all wuhan......i mean I love my crash but sabian aaxplosion sound great.... And I hate the small bell on the wuhan ride.....although I could get the rock seiries ride and that has a good sized bell......what would u do. Remember money isn't much if a problem beins I have a job.

  • @drummer123apple Yeah they do, my Sabian AAX crashes sounded really nice while I used them, although I think Wuhan's cleaner crashes are a better value. I hate the small ride bell too >.< I'm not sure about the rock ride. If I were you I'd look into Dream Bliss or Stagg SH/DH cymbals. But those should give you some quality cymbals while saving quite a bit of cash vs Sabian AAX/Zildjian A Customs. I may be getting Stagg Vintage Bronze hats soon. What kind of sound are you wanting in your cymbals?

  • @drummer123apple I would definitely recommend small Wuhan crashes and the 14" hi-hats if you want fairly dark cymbals and don't mind having hi-hats that are kind of quiet.
