If we look back at that time & this music it catches the eye, that then, music, aesthetics & system were coeval! That is: the monarchy, as it was back then, had nothing stuffy! All was contemporary, notably arts & music! If we'd try to invent a scenario for our times, one would see contemporary fashion, all the rage, and a sovereign's coronation, for example, accompanied by contemporary compositions, let's say, by Brian Ferneyhough !? I find the idea funny - as mental acrobatics only, of course
