  • I just a matter of taste. I really like the "before sound", much, much more.

  • the best way to go is to buy a japanese 80´s les paul.tokai burny or a greco.gibson will always be a company who doesn´t do things right that way there own government wanna put them put of bussiness.i have a tokai from 1981 is an ls 200 i it will kill any gibson including there VOS line

  • this gibson sounds crappy

  • very well played. But i prefer to play my own notes:-)

  • Larry,

Great sound..how much for a lcpg mod?..I am in Australia so inluding shipping..here's cheers!..

  • Hello there. Just wanted to ask you if the stock standard fadeds are painted with spray or how ? Do you know how many coats of satin nitro are in there ? I need to repaint mine. :( Finish is starting to lose the color but just in the pickguard area... Thanks!

  • I don't know anything about guitars or how to play them, but what I do know is that PG was a genius who knew Exactly, Every time, what the right sound was for every riff, and when to change the sound. And he was so sparing with the notes, most of what you heard was in your own head and not even on the recording. Most players don't know any of this stuff, and That is the mark of the Genius. There are a lot of soundalikes, but only one Peter Green.

  • is this straight guitar into amp or are you using a pedal?

  • part 1 les paul sonded way better

  • Do you think the Manalishi pickups with the Green Mod will sound good in a Les Paul Classic? Also, Lollar Pickups has a set of humbuckers called The Peter Green Imperial Humbucker. Have you tried them?

  • Sounds great - wish I had one. Odd thing is Pete didn't need one of these to sound like Peter Green he just plugged in and played and - hey presto! As I understand it he didn't do any mods to his LP which probably came out of the factory out of phase. He liked to turn his amp up full and regulate tone/vol from his guitar. Plus - he was a GENIUS!

  • wished pete green would get one of these

  • Great pickin' and TONE!!! Are those faded LP's chambered?? I've had the PG mod done on one of my LP's, but haven't been able to crank it very loud. Are you playing pretty loud here??

  • Best Peter Green imitation I have ever heard. Ray Chappell.

  • when doing this mod. the neck and bridge selector still sounds normal right? it's only in the middle position you can get them out of phase so to say?

  • Hey man, you are so talented and a real great guy. IMOHO. I have inherited a Les Paul Standard 2008 chambered E-Guitar. Could I do this PG Mod on this guitar. If not how much bunge would it cost me, or how much would you charge if it could be done? I love your playing, so soulful, so peter green!!

    Thanks Alan.

and , man , your playing is amazing

  • Hi, great sound! great playing! What is the amp and amp setting? Any pedals?

  • Enjoy your playing, both before and after! I was curious if you have checked out the wiring of the Heritage guitars. Are they done well? Have you modded them?

  • Very cool, you've absolutely nailed it. You've got PG licks just coming right out of your pores! I didn't expect it to come through so much using a Fender amp, what volume and tone settings did you use for the demos ?

  • I'm the proud owner of LCPG-252 and I can hardly find the right words to express how gratefull I am to Larry. Just like PG, he is very humble and problably not aware he really did a unique job by delivering THE great PG tone that nobody in the world, except PG himself, was able to create. As studying PG solo's has become part of my life, Larry enabled me to put the crown on my life work. Larry thanks very very much!!

  • I love the Peter Green tone. Nice units!

But...I like your playing too. Thanks for putting this all up.

    Michael

  • Wow, I've been trying to nail that tone for years! I already have too many guitars, but would seriously sell something for one of these, very nice job.

What is the setup on the amp - speakers, EQ, etc? I see you have a Weber Mini-mass running, as well. I have one that I tried using on my Allen Old Flame (2x10) but can't say I've had good luck with it. You've obviously got the formula down... "FM in Chicago"! Thanks, I'm interested!

  • I am a confirmed Bare Knuckle pickup user but have a massive respect for CV and Larry.

    regards

  • I have # 198 and it is absolutely stunning. The work that Larry puts into the conversion is absolutely top-rate with nothing stinted. I spent weeks and weeks chatting with Larry by email from the UK before I placed my order (originaly for #190) and when I changed my mind for #198 he could not have been more accommodating. A wonderful guy, and I now own a wonderful guitar. I have thirteen quality solid bodied guitars including three Les Pauls, and #198 beats 'em all, hands down. Thanks Larry.

  • I have LCPG 117, and it's just amazing!

  • Beautifulll tone AND feel. Thats some great sustain you're getting . Nice Vibrato too .... actually its allllll goooood

  • I have one and it rocks. The pickups rule and are some of the only HBs I really like with fuzz : )

  • you are sad but talented

  • So i opened your part one in one window...and your part 2 in a second window....turned the volume up an made them play at exactly the same time...now that was f#@$^%^in awesome!!! HAHAHaaaa

  • @MRMITCHELLZ I'vejust done the same and it does sound pretty cool!

    Great playing!

  • Kinda makes my paul sound like a one trick pony! nice, very nice!!

  • @midislseguy add a push/pul pot you can reverse the phase whenever you want

  • @daviejtube95 I've done both to the same guitar, The magnet flip sounds totally different .

  • @bramley1001 does the push/pull sound any good? i wanted to do it so i had more options tone wise

  • @daviejtube95 Somehow it doesn't have quite the same depth of the effect as the magnet flip. That's just my experience. Still , it sounds close and leaves the option of a normal middle position.

  • @daviejtube95 Hi I have the "Push pull" Version of the mod with the FAT wire 57 Gibson pickups.

I spent a bit doing it but its worth it :)

You get a nice bright tone (Even MORE than a Fender!)

This method gives you 4 tone options as you can at a switch change back.

The Cons of doing it with a FAT double lead pickup tho are that if you touch the reversed magnet it buzzes or with the string it goes dead. With a single lead pickup this wouldn't be an issue but you do loose some meat...

  • ooh boy

  • Great job Larry. Love it
