This was the opener for our show....two years ago I think. Ours was a little more jazzy, but I like the way you guys did it too. Oh, and cool drill :)
my band plays this. Sounds a bit out of tune lol. eiher all trumpets got same part, or all brignign up an octave. Saxes also Lagged on their Intrance. and the trumept solo was correct. but a little Forced and loose tone. :P Drum rbeka si new to me though. we usualyl have a neat gallop to ours and it repeats to sorta liek the beginning of the song. but we use it for pep not for marching.
First off, that was problably the most boring shows that I have ever seen. You guys seem to think that playing extremly loud will make you do better, thats not the case. Have you ever heard of dynamics? You guys would not last one day in the ussba. Also, visually you guys were boring because you hardly moved. Play better music, like by a composer, and write better drill and maybe you will have a video worth watching.
For what it was, yeah a good performance. Just all I heard was loud the whole time. I know music, I am going to major in music in college and I play 6 different instruments. I'm in a 9-time world champion drum corp too, so don't tell me that I don't know music. Now don't go off on me but my view is that a lot more could have been done with that and it could be a little better.
you dont want nobody to go off on you but thats what you did and who really cares if your on a 9-time world champion drum corp ask this band how many time they won championships, high step and corp are to different things dont if you dont like one style then dont look at it
p.s. playing loud is a skill not everybody can do it
I agree completely and the they need a better trumpet soloist it sounds to squeaky. + If they think they play that loud really they aren't in comparison to some other bands. Really I think that these Virginia bands keep winning cause the judges are biased and from Virginia (a duh).
Oh and for those of you who want to comment on this about any topic like racism or whatever I am black so it shows that more than one type of person finds this very very boring T^T

but who said they wanted to do ussba and the music has nothing to do with the band just like your band I bet there director picked it and there drill is written for there style I mean why watch it all your gonna do is talk about them
and oh did you hear that bass line when was the last time u hear a black line play like that instead of talking about how bad u say they are tell about the good thing they did
True can argue with you on that. The USSBA isn't even available to all bands so true. And I can say that they exactally suck they are alright for what they are.
First of all that wasn't the whole field show just one song hint Huguenot "The Contender" the rest of the field show is not loaded. Secondly that was a bad camera and the show did not sound that bad I mean the competion was at a high school in D.C. in the field wasn't even marked. The reason you can't here the dynamic contrast or really here the trumpet part is because of the camera with that same piece we recieved the highest honors you can get in Va corp style or high step in marching band

Very very true. Thats why its unfair to put bands from both sorts in competition or to be scored by similar means. (For example Orlands MPA)
