no it doesnt unlock the phone. Unlocking can be done, but its at a cost since microscopes need to be used and special equipment (which is costly) Thanks.
I dont really understand HOW to debrand the phone, just by updating the firmware (through a download from internet?) does the advertisements and the three logo only appear when you have a supscription or even if you use a refill SIM ( these are the options available in Sweden, paying through a bill every month or just refilling your phone when it's "empty" on money.
You could update the firmware on 6280s using the Nokia Software Updater but on older versions of the phone it bricked them (as it did to mine) meaning they had to be sent off to be repaired by Nokia. I don't know this for sure but I believe it was a flex issue not accepting the newer firmware and needing to be physically replaced. Since then Nokia disabled the function to prevent it happening and just told people to send their phones in to a Nokia Service Center for firmware upgrades. :)
cant i find another phone that has the same screen but with higher features all i need is that kind of screen 6280 has but with a better cam. is there anyone who can help me?

I hate my Nokia 6280. I was moving files from the mobile memory to the memory card and then the phone crashed and rebooted. I went to see whats going on, and then it said the memory card was "Not formatted"! I've faced this for 8-9 times!
I also have a nokia 6280 3 branded, but i live in the US, and also i have tryed to unlock it, and now the phone says: cannot undo restriction . Can anyone help please !!!!!!!!!!!
There is no way of unlocking these and all you have done now is block the code counter which will cost you extra money to have it reset from someone who knows what they are doing. My guess is you bought a fake calculator off ebay thinking it will be unlocked, but it causes more havoc in the long run. I was unlocking these handsets before, but now its not possible. Do not waste your time with calculators as they DO NOT work.

Yes you would probably lose it. But im sure skype and other applications could be reinstalled very easily

Yes it dose !! nOKIA SOFTWARE updater work on all newer version of nokias,simbyan or not.
I have updated my firmware with it, on 6280, thats when it got locked back to "3" network
