naw bro...i have 4 promate blades and they live up to the expectations. cuts way sharper than any andis carbon steel or stainless steel blade on the market. promates are beast and they run alot cooler and dnt rust.

I found that of all brands, conair-pro, copied the andis t-outliner, there stock blade sucks, but can easily be replaced by an andis t-outliner blade. It's the conair pro plimatic 159T, this is an exact duplicate, motor wise as well, of the andis t-outliner, what sets it off is that is has a rubber grip so your hand doesnt get burned like when handling the andis, google it, it cuts just like the andis once an andis blade is put on it without burning your hand: google it: Conair Pro Plimatic 159T

@SPAZO6969...yes the box has Mr.T on it, but on some real, this machine is no joke, it's an exact duplicate of the t-outliner but it has a rubber grip so your hand wont get burned, just put an andis t-outliner blade on it and its gonna cut exactly like an andis t-outliner minus the burn, it was actually the barber supply shop i used to go to in Manhattan that recommended it to me, so I took a chance and fell in love with it. Supplies are limited cause its discontinued, get one before its to late

And my honest opinion, all though the andis t-outliner and the stylner 2/M3 clippers are the most commonly agreed upon and used clipper for shaping, there is nothing sharper than a razor blade, you can sharpen and adjust your blade as much as you want, but there is nothing out there that can beat a flat razor blade cut. That is the ultimate sharp shape-up, I think real true barbers will agree with me here regarding all my comments here today.

All you upcoming barbers, take a look at the "gold guide" on the pro-mate, and look at your standard t-outliner guide, compare the teeth, this is what I want you all to look at, since we like to take the cutting blade and put it as close as possible without it overlapping, notice how the teeth on the promate are bigger, that means it's going to cut less, the andis t-outliner teeths on the guide are smaller which means closer cut. Stick to your originals for closer cut, you're better off!!!

@FMKNinja They suck, read my review, promates have bigger teeth, just like your regular guards, a #4 grabs less then a #1 am I right? follow me so far? so if the teeth on the promate are bigger then the teeth on your standard andis blades, doesnt that mean that the promate is going to grab less hair, We all want the closest shape up possible, sticking with our original andis because of the smaller teeth is the way to go, if anything, invest in getting them professionally sharpened, and adjusted.

@FMKNinja They are a set of gold colored blades that a third party company named Pro-mate decide to clone and improve on the stock blades for the Andis T-Outliner, I dont oppose improvement, but damm do it right, these blades are garbage, they are not better then the stock blades, read some of my posts as to why, my post got really descriptive and most barbers here 9 out of 10 will more than likely agree with me, you'll have that one asshole like the guy in the video that wants to be difficult.

I just got the promates they work fina and so do the regular blades. The promates dont get hot as fast and like he said the teeth work like regular clippers teeth so it does grab longer hair really well. Pro mate blades are great but your regular andis blades will do the job

i just got 2 of pro-mate blades and they do stay cool longer than the andis blade.you can buy them ready 2 use so you dont have to adjust them to get a closer cut.i say its best than the andis blade hands down!

Thanks for the advice...i have to say i just puchased my andis outliner just for dry shaving etc...i have heard about the pro blade and some say it does no different, it just keeps the blade cooler on contact of skin & blade will not get as rusty as most..but it must have some effect.
