You could try a little command. Right click, go to properties, then click set launch options, then type -dxlevel 80 *with the space between the dxlevel and 80. I hope this helps.
Go to Steam, right click on Team Fortress 2, click on properties, click on set launch options, and then type in -dxlevel 70 since your problem is very laggy.
You simply need, RAM, A better GPU, Low settings, dxlevel 80, or something else by google. It seems you need to lower your resolution man btw. ONE OF THOSE should work
It seems to be your computer, Some computers can run some games such as Team Fortress 2, Or even half life 2. But kicking it into fullscreen with high textures and everything can make your game lag. What i recommend is to set your game into windowed mode, And set the resolution to a slightly smaller resolution that your monitor. You can do this by going to Options,Video, And advanced. In the advanced bit, You can miss around with texture settings and what not. Contact me if you need more help
@cavalryscout72 go to a "how to reduce lag in tf2" video, If your not picky about graphics it reduces to a graphic level beetwen Ps1-Ps2. Reduces LAG ALOT.
@iDeltaNine I have the same problem, I can't play TF2 in full screen, or even in windowed mode at my native resolution(1600x900) without experiencing heavy lag. I already do what you told him to do, but is there a way to fix the lag while in fullscreen ? my system specification exceed the recommended for this game, so I don't know what could be happening...
What flavor poptart did you use?
