I swear i heard part of this song in a clip in the great Senna Movie when i saw it in Harbourlights when the film came to Britain last year. Could be wrong though! I'm sure Ayrton would like this song seeing that it was originally from his native Brazil. Prefer The Bees cover, having heard both versions and this band are originated not far from where i' am from. It's a great dance song :)

Don't get me wrong but this song gave me a good laugh. It's admirable to see people making an effort to sing in another language, but I can't avoid fiding their strong accent hilarious (I wouldn't, if they were just speaking, but when it's a song, it gets funny, idk)

You're right Os Mutantes wrote this and it's on a compilation called Tropicalia that came out about 5 years ago, the original is a much more raw and unrefined and yes better

Tem razao na fez qualquer sentido postar o meu comentario aqui, de qualquer forma a intensao foi essa mesmo saber onde podia passer este estilo de musica no Brasil, ja que e o pais node vivo actualmente e assim estaria a fazer algo que ja fiz no passado em outros locals do mundo.

I'm from Brazil and The Bees just made a version of it... it was good, but is so funny listening these people trying to talk portuguese... seems like spanish but also italian.... I don't know! If you like it, listen to Mutantes... Brazil have plenty of good musicians too... try it sometimes. It's not only "Garota de Ipanema". Bye.

@SargentMcKenzie I am a big Os Mutantes AND Jorge Ben fan. Isn't it odd that when the Bees covered the song, they sang the translation of the Portueguese and when Os Mutantes recorded the song in English, they called it, "She's My Shoo Shoo" and the lyrics are quite different?

As for this version, it's nicely sung, but the chords are not right and the rhythm is different, which makes the song plod.
