  • เทพอ่อ เบสเล่นไม่เต็มเสียงด้วย ล้ำมาก

  • A great version but I don't like the way he alternates the base starting on the E string instead of the A for the main melody It just doesnt sound quite right in my opinion.

  • @MrShazzar Obviously, Doc prefers it this way. So do I.

  • no there never will be another doc he truely is one of a kind.

a true insperation in my book

  • Never be another like him!

  • This was the first song i learned how to play on guitar but it wasnt as good as this of course

  • What key is this turned to anyone know

  • i am going to make a promise to myself that before i die i will learn to play this song

  • this man make me wanna grab my guitar and start practicing

  • @fiftieslover that's funny because it made me want to put my guitar down

  • Great song

  • its the first time that i have seen doc finger pick i thought he was purely a flat picker im just about to place this video on my favorites list

  • @paulboon His fingerpicking is always with just thumb and 1 finger.

  • i love his

  • Who else was actually watching his right hand?

  • This man sees beyond..

  • i can't imagine what learning these songs would be like without youtube

  • bending string with pinky alone is hard for me

  • @guitarismysword1 practice it a lot. I had problems with it at start as well! I just kept trying it for days and I managed afterwards :D

  • This is finger picking good

  • I was under the impression that Chet Atkins wrote it.

  • Awesome !!

At the end of the video, he seems to start to cry xD

Hey, what ?? If one day I play guitar like that, I'm sure I will cry !

  • is that an eight string?

  • @CASLUVR Count the Tuners at the beginning of the Video... ;)

    ''Good Vibes @ all !!!''

  • i play bluegrass music i cant fingerpick he is amazing

  • my God

  • Didn't noticed that bush also could play guitar

  • Mighty fine!

  • OH YEA!!

  • It's quiet funny : I have practised that very song for ages, I am very comfortable with it, and it still sounds as shit compared to doc's xD

  • I've watched this 50 times, trying to pick up on the process. That old man makes me sick .AIN'T HE GREAT?

  • Doc Watson tought Chuck Norris how to pick.

  • He plays with such control and taste! Time to get practicing!

  • Other players are all over the fretboard on this one. The Doc does it all under the left hand. And the right hand is classic "Doc" thumb and first finger. Saw him in Surbiton, England in the sixties - been trying to do what he does ever since. Getting there...

  • What can I say man, GREAT :D

  • He gets into a zone when he's playing, like Joe DiMaggio.

  • ********** ten stars for general Watson!!

  • NIKITA

  • THANK YOU DOC WATSON

  • stuff like this makes me wanna break my flatpick in half

  • thank you for the good camera work, two views

  • Is he playing the whole melody with his index finger?! Crazy!

Also, that bendy trick at 2:10 made me want to jump and shout...

  • hi everyone.

could anyone tell me the chords in order please or if anyone has a tab.

Awesome song, what a legendary guitarist

    cheers everyone

  • @hurls8686 Just search ''windy and warm guitar lesson'' here on the tube and you will find some great lessons, have fun. Merry christmas and happy new year!

  • great playing, but it is even more amazing that he is using only 2 fingers....why i ask myself?it is much easier with the rest of the fingers, and many more possibilities.Still sound great anyhow.

  • @johnydeltablues: Doc learned this fingerstyle technique by listening to Merle Travis, the same man after whom he named his late son and longtime performing partner Merle Watson; Merle used only two fingers, so I'll bet that's why Doc did it. The scary thing is this performance is nothing like the limit of Doc's dexterity and speed in the fingerpicking style; he was almost as adept at it as his more famous flatpicking. The man was/is an under-appreciated genius.

  • Great version! Would you know where I can get the tab ?

  • hey guys, fans of Doc Watson should definitely check out Kent Gustavson's new book, "Blind But Now I See, The Biography of Music Legend Doc Watson " @ his Facebook page, "Doc Watson Book".

  • certainly the best version of Windy and Warm I've ever heard

  • Applause? :(

  • I think I am going to give my guitar away. This is too much!

  • @ead117

it makes me wanna burn my guitar he is so good

  • I heard he was able to pick an out of tune guitar in a group of 5-10 guys pickin'!

  • @charchives: Don't know for certain, but Doc - like Ray Charles and other blind musicians - learned to rely more heavily on the senses he has, and has developed them to an extraordinary level. I can vouch for Doc's ear, though; when I saw him live, he could tune perfectly to pitch w/o electonic reference. Very good relative pitch or even perfect pitch. Not sure which. His time is also extremely accurate - he sets a tempo and then keeps it; it does not wander around like with some folks.

  • i would literally have given, and still would give, my life to have been there, sitting right in front of him. NONE whatsoever can compare to the Doctor Himself.

  • Toomy E. can't hold Doc's jock.

  • wonder if he has any "braille" type markers on the back of the neck to help him out? Regardless, I actually own this DVD from Homespun Records. It's a great lecture which also covers several other tunes including Deep River Blues. uh Mazing.

  • @GuitarSlinger2112 no offense but i highly doubt he has anything on the back of the neck.

  • @chazeman2 no doubt! I mean with my limited skills I can play fairly accurately w/o looking. Even in complete dark. Which is actually easier than simply not looking for some reason... go figure

  • @GuitarSlinger2112 No way brother. Doc just KNOWS. He is the greatest guitarist on the face of ther earth (and blind to boot) I once saw a man hand him an old Alvarez guitar, probably a 1972, and doc simply said "hmmm....alvarez, eh?"

  • dude this man is so amazing someday i hope ill be able to pick like that

  • @mackerall19 if you keep on, you will!

  • @mackerall19 its that simple kid. you can play anything imaginable if you practice hard enough.

  • @mackerall19 practice son.

  • That little vamp you know, of the, with the thumb.

  • @superchef78 wit hthe thumb ,perfect

  • This song means a lot to me because my dad used to play it when I was a boy. I love it so much.

  • Doc Watson rules.

  • All with only one finger and thumb!!

  • What a MASTER!!!

  • Doc Watson just blows me away. How a blind man can play fingerstyle will always be a mystery to me. Even Tommy Emmanuel needs to look at his chords every once in a while. Awesome!

  • can't stop dancing...

  • @gyouaredone I'm dancing ,too :-)

  • How much do you think he practices?

  • Enough to be this good, I surmise.

  • 1:22 is the best part of the whole thing, that one little pause and bend of the string blew me away! the little things like that is what makes Doc a national treasure in my opinion

  • hey doc you rock....

  • Mash'allah chamallow !! Dieu est grand !! C'est un musulman très pieux insh'allah !!!

  • omg 1:10

  • Excellent..

    What a great player..

  • Doc Watson( thats how we say guitar player where i come from) without a doubt one of the best of all time!!!

  • Excellent, thank you Chrys (from France)

  • Damn Doc,

You make it look so eazy.

  • incredible!

  • is this in standard tuning?

  • Yup Capo on the 3rd GL with this song took me months to get it right..

  • So that "Little vamp" as he states is him muting the strings with his ring finger on his fretting hand?

  • I think he is muting them with inside of his palm close to his thumb.. Kinda like when you play heart of gold by Neil Young. You hit the string with your fingers/pick along with your palm at the same time.. Give it a nice loud dull sound. I think the only string Doc is muting is the big E..

  • Vamp is the Boom Chic played with the right thumb on muted 4th 5th and 6th strings. the ring finger of his left hand is not muting anything he plays an Am chord with two fingers the middle finger is bridging two strings so the ring finger is free while Am is being held

  • Doc only plays with standard tuning.. he doesn't know anything else.. I've played with him..

  • After all these years it is still amazing to me that Doc only picks with his thumb and index finger. Wow.

  • in my opinion possibly one of the best most underrated guitar players in the world.

  • I wouldn't say he is underrated. If you know who he is you know hes badass. But unfortunately, there are too many fallout boys our there taking away from the real talent.

  • is just me or does it look like he's bursting in to tears at the end?

  • This is from an instructional video that I actually own...he's laughing!

  • WAY BY FAR THE BEST VERSION!!!!!!!!

  • always loved Docs version of this song!
