@kuwaizair I'd say to stick with Minstrel Song. The original is really dated and the only thing going for it is the music, really. Even if you learned japanese and understood what they're saying, you wouldn't even know what to do about anything. Oh, and also and the battles would leave you with the immense desire to smash your balls with a hammer. The game's really unpolished and HARD, not user-friendly at all. It's EVIL. On top of that, there's no translation and guides are scarce.

That and, because it didn't come out here until the PS2's remake of Romancing Saga 1.

The best way to truly enjoy an RPG is to make the most out of everything you could possibly do. In order to even continue, you have to talk to NPCs to know what you need to do. Many of them will hint on what to do next, IE: where to go, or what you need to do.

Each RPG in itself is a huge world to explore, in order to truly enjoy, you want to explore as much of that world as possible.

Those that hate talking to every NPC in RPGs will never know what to do in these games, it requires you to talk to everyone. It's an on rail RPG basically.

Nowadays, people who talk to every NPCs are typically rewarded with either quests that most people would miss out on (unless they know exactly who to talk to), or additional information/subtle information to dwelve further into the story of the game, or are capable of following completely unrelated side-stories which gives slightly more life to the entire ensemble.

Romancing SaGa had up to three games, each spanning familiar characters from the previous episode as it goes further. SaGa Frontier, Unlimited SaGa are each its own game and possibly series, considering Frontier's success.

Did you know that the lyrics actually describes the synopsis of each character's story at the start of the game? By the way, SOMEONE MAKE A SUBTITLED VERSION ALREADY GODDAMIT.
