  • lol when he got the axe he like had to hit him right in the head

  • like if your a houdini fan :)

  • That's not how he died people.

  • Houdini was perhaps the first superstar of the last century. He had a large ego and maintained a superman image before the public similar to Mohammed Ali's "I am the greatest". You either loved him or hated him. When injured from the punch he refused to seek medical help until it was too late. In 1926 there was no penicilin to cure infections. It was the infection that killed him.

  • wait so how did he die i thought he got punched please tell me some one

  • @AzaiahbBadass You're right, he died from being punched in the stomach, which brought on peritonitis due to a ruptured appendix. This film, though entertaining enough, is largely fictional and bears little relation to the real events of Houdini's life.

  • @demon27dan

It covers the imprtoant events, places, and actions. It covers Houdini's life rather well, and is entertaining at the same time.

    GOD Bless,

    -Miss De Jian

    Tony +Janet <3

  • @AzaiahbBadass

He died from a ruptured apendix. In the film and I'm pretty sure real life, this is the cause for him also drowning. It was a conbination of both.Hope this helps.

    GOD Bless,

    -Miss De Jian

    Tony +Janet <3

  • what a happy ending

  • did he died because of drowning or did he died because of his appendix ??

  • @TheDarkshadow427 appendix...

  • it was sad when he died. ;(

  • Tony Curtis was my favorite actor when I was a kid. I really thought he died in this movie that's how much this scene affected me.

  • Awesome movie, thanks for uploading it

  • is he died?? =,,,,(

  • I read a book on Harry Houdini and most of This is wrong or in the wrong order. Harry did not die that way, he got punched in the stomach which gave him rare appendix disease and he died from that in the hospital

  • what happen to him at 1.44 seconds...??? idk..!!!

  • @PearAMount Thanks for uploading this vid =) I love Tony Curtis <3

  • Heh wow don't think i could watch anymore of this. Just getting sad. From the looks of it. It just seems the crowd or people were demanding. & houdini gave into it. Couldn't manage getting through. But i find his death & bruce lee's death a fascinating mystery. Thanx for the upload. Great movie.

  • Excellent film but as with all Hollywood "biopics", them ain't the facts. Houdini was punched in the stomach several times by a college student in Toronto who accidentally ruptured his appendix. Houdini went to continue his tour all the while the poison from his appendix went throughout his body. He died in Receiving Hospital in Detroit several weeks later.

  • Although creatively inaccurate, this movie is still very entertaining and well worth the watch. Houdini was a true pioneer in the world of magic. The mere mention of his name is as highly revered and noteworthy today, as it was when he was still alive. His popularity has never waned, and truthfully has few parallels accept for maybe the Titanic disaster.

  • whats kinda sadder, is that even after his wife died. Bess's family wouldn't let her be buried beside her husband

  • @Moonstone2732

yes your right bcuz his wife Bess is Catholic and her family is Catholic too bcuz Houdini is Jewish

  • RIP both Tony Curtis and Houdini

  • This was one fantastic movie and Tony Curtis played the part gallantly!!!!!He was the greatest of the escape artist!!!Thank you for posting this classic movie :-)RIP Tony and know that we all and Jamie Lee all miss you...........

  • This ending has nothing to do with the way Houdini died. He was punched in the stomach in real life and never recovered.

  • @MegaFunMovies well actually the punches in the stomach have been reported to not have anything to do with his death either. That he had been ill even before getting punched. But anywhoos movies gets facts wrong all the time.

  • i really like the movie, its just the way that they got the facts all wrong and stuff really annoys me

  • Wish the end were better but it is a great movie and Tony Curtis played the part so well.

  • Thank You so very much for uploading this!

  • great job pearamount,, and a great movie also,,,

    oldbear.

  • The movie took a bit of dramatic license with "Von Schweiger's Water Cell". In reality, the Chinese Water Torture Cell had been part of Houdini's act from 1912 until his final week. Also, he was in much worse shape than the movie lets on. Houdini had broken an ankle weeks earler, was suffering from appendicitis aggravated by the blow to the stomach, and was running a 104 fever when he went on for his last show.

  • To one of the greats - there are so few left !

  • Tony was one of the greatest actors of all time and to me this was his best role he ever played and he did it magnificently!!!!!!!We will miss you Tony Curtis....RIP

  • a great movie by tony curtis and one of my favourites as well.but for the record the real harry houdini had died by an appendix burst but the alterations still don't spoil the movie plot.we surely shall miss tony curtis but his work shall always remain with us..

  • The entire film a masterpiece

But the part that I always makes me cry incessantly starts at 2:08

    RIP one of Hollywood's Best

  • even though it's a movie and that's not even how the real Houdini died i held my breath at the end of the movie hoping he would make it

thank you so much for posting this it is an amazing old movie

  • @youngupsessor13 same basic idea to how he died.

  • RasMajnouni is right, that's the way Houdini actually died, not like in this movie.

  • thank you! so enjoyable yet sad in the end. should be an updated movie version of the great houdini with even more historical accuracy. the private thoughts this man had must have been amazing!

  • Great movie. Thank you for the upload. Didn't realize Tony Curtis was such a handsome fella.

  • While in Montreal Houdini dared any man to strike him in the stomach & he could take the blow.He did have appendix problems.A student hit him a number of times before Houdini had a chance to strengthen his muscles. His appendix ruptured & he died of peritonitis. He had the ability to swollow keys & regurgitate them at will.

  • Brilliant movie :D
