@raythabarber The light grey cvr's are the low power subs that kicker makes. And I think they're actually called cvt. The silver cvr's are pretty good, I have 2 in a factory built kicker box I've been using for about 6 months, and I just bought a cvx in a super bass probox. Idk if it's the way I have the cvx connected but on most songs I think the cvr's sound better. Have it connected to an okur 1500.1 d class amp @ 1 ohm, had the cvr's at 2 ohms

@mathewsvshoyt None of those. Save up a little more and look into better underground subs. Underground subs are much better than mainstream products. Look for Fi audio, DC audio, Audioque, Sundown Audio, Digital designs, Crossfire, Incriminator, Ascendant audios etc. Their subs are 10x better than Rockford, Alpine, Pioneer, Kicker, JL and all of those mainstream names. JL's are overpriced. The only thing kicker and RF makes that are good are their amps and maybe separates.
Why put 2 12" in a car? Do you really need to make your car shake that much? I'd rather buy a single 10" subwoofer and high quality speakers and make a good quality system rather than buy multiple huge subs. Even a single 8" is loud enough for a car.

I am about to get 2 CVX 12's in a slot portd box in '06 Chevy Aveo Hatchback with a 2400W max 1500W RMS Kicker amp. If the CVX's can do that at 1000W, then I cannot wait till I see what they do with mine. Considering the RMS on the 2400W is 1500W and yours is probably close to 600W bridged, this thing will be bangin'!

@shaochiavang Yes there 3000W Max as a pair. Meaning they can handle almost double of a 1000W RMS amp, and triple if it's 1000W max. Kicker l7's are 3000W MAx a pair also.
By the way 1500W RMS (continueous power) is up to 3,000 W and even more because it's a kicker. Same with subs, Rather a kicker is 750RMS or 1000RMS, it's peak is double.
Max power doesnt mean anything when choosing a AMP for your Subwoofers.. The RMS is all that matters when finding a amp for your subs. Always match a AMPs RMS power to the Subs watts RMS

Yes they are 3000 Watts max, but they 750Watts RMS each subs. Single 12" cvx is 1500Watts/750RMS, so when you have two together, it would be 3000Watts/1500RMS. And no, subwoofers does not blow when amp is underpower. Because when you power a subwoofer, say 1500RMS power from your amp to your subwoofer, you prob. only play it at ex. vol. 25 out of 35, so you always be underpowering your subs.

@quickestwhiteboy actually the rms on the 12's is 750 but they can handle a 1000 a piece with ease. great move he did by going with a memphis amp out of all the main stream stuff made they are the best. i have seen 2 m3 12's on a 1000d out hit 2 l7 15's on 1500 kicker and 2 8500 mtx 15's ported on a 1500 mtx and the guy had a sealed box with the memphis subs. his boss had 4 m3 15's walled in a 53 panel truck w/ 2 1000d's on it and it hit in the upper 150 db's.a 158.6 was his best to be exact.
@skeet2face09 Awesome choice on all the componets but one thing i ill tell you is get the usb calble for your i pod instead of the head phone jack so that way you dont have to worry about balanceing volume outputs between the i pod and the head unit my Motorola i1 droid hooks right into the usb port and i can just go through all the files its awesome i might post a video on it check it out and ill show you what i mean if you dont understand but other wise dope shit!

@chevyboi369 that hifonics amp will not put out 2000 watts, but it'll still slap pretty hard. i'd go with the memphis amp memphis makes kick ass amp hifonics makes so so amps. the hifonics=MAYBE 1500 watts memphis=1700 watts easy.

Max power doesnt mean anything when choosing a AMP for your Subwoofers.. The RMS is all that matters when finding a amp for your subs. Always match a AMPs RMS power to the Subs watts RMS

@shaochiavang Yes RMS matters when finding a good Mono D amp, designed to power subs and only subs.. I say ''3000 w MAX subs'', means there 1500W a pair, RMS doubles..thats a fact. Same with amps, and when your subs blow means your amps power was under rated.

Yes they are 3000 Watts max, but they 750Watts RMS each subs. Single 12" cvx is 1500Watts/750RMS, so when you have two together, it would be 3000Watts/1500RMS. And no, subwoofers does not blow when amp is underpower. Because when you power a subwoofer, say 1500RMS power from your amp to your subwoofer, you prob. only play it at ex. vol. 25 out of 35, so you always be underpowering your subs.

@quickestwhiteboy Yes thats what I ment to say 3,000 watts a pair.. And 1500 each as I said.. and of course.. Matching a amps RMS to a subs RMS only makes sense.. just like a Sony sub max wattage to a sony amps max wattage at 2ohm etc.
Not all amps have continueous power like actual good brand ones do..
And 2 L7 12s hooked up to a 2000RMS Amp, no it wouldn't blow because your incontrol of how much your cranking them

@quickestwhiteboy actually the rms on the 12's is 750 but they can handle a 1000 a piece with ease. great move he did by going with a memphis amp out of all the main stream stuff made they are the best. i have seen 2 m3 12's on a 1000d out hit 2 l7 15's on 1500 kicker and 2 8500 mtx 15's ported on a 1500 mtx and the guy had a sealed box with the memphis subs. his boss had 4 m3 15's walled in a 53 panel truck w/ 2 1000d's on it and it hit in the upper 150 db's.a 158.6 was his best to be exact.

@skeet2face09 Awesome choice on all the componets but one thing i ill tell you is get the usb calble for your i pod instead of the head phone jack so that way you dont have to worry about balanceing volume outputs between the i pod and the head unit my Motorola i1 droid hooks right into the usb port and i can just go through all the files its awesome i might post a video on it check it out and ill show you what i mean if you dont understand but other wise dope shit!

@chevyboi369 that hifonics amp will not put out 2000 watts, but it'll still slap pretty hard. i'd go with the memphis amp memphis makes kick ass amp hifonics makes so so amps. the hifonics=MAYBE 1500 watts memphis=1700 watts easy.

AWESOME, what exactly have you done that makes the bass not make a sound, but then just starts to fuckin thump, i got 2 12s on a 2400 watt amp, and when i play a song, it thumps, id rather it wait just like yours does, great system man

You possibly just have your Gain on your amp crankeddd up. tweak with that.

I've never own L5's.
The CVX's are rated higher than the L5's.
I have owned the CVR's which is basically like the L5's.
If you can't afford the CVX's get them. I don't really remember what the prices were on them.

Awesome set up, i love cvx's and i love memphis amps. i used to have one 12'' kicker solo x in my grand am se and i broke the tail lights, the side mirrors and the had to put the moldings on the doors back on cuz they fell off lol. but shits lookin good with the tint man keep it up!

even underpowered, they are loud enough to give you a head ache, so who gives a crap, I have 2 kicker cvx 15's, thats 2000rms total, powered by a kicker 1500.1 amp, and rated for 1621 watts of power, but I cant even go that loud, as it hurts my neck and head, so who gives a crap, they hit really hard, ha ha
