@davec3487 Current range for Ping 48v 10ah is about 20km @ full throttle. Working on upgrading to 50v 20ah compact and light Lipo batteries that will give me 40km @ full throttle and will fit inside the triangle for killer handling.
what is the website to get this nice motor for a bike(is this e-bikekitdotecom?) and what is the name of the motor with the whole kit? which one would be the third generation motors' name and how much would that cost? how many mph this can go? this can be added to any kind of bike right? My last question I have a ezip 500 currie electrical scooter, how can I increase the power, I would like to increase the power of my scooter but I am also interested on the bike kit as well
@CHELEIRVIN (1.) yes e-bikekit(.)com. (2.)The kit you want is Direct Drive! (Product ID : EBK-RHDD-KIT) (3.)Cost $442 for the kit. (4.) Goes 28mph OR 44kmh. (5.) Use heavy duty bikes with steel frame OR steel forks. (6.) Look for a forum that specializes in modding electric scooters. Good luck
@MrStevegibb No, this direct drive is not the MXUS 36V 500W Direct Drive Ebike Kit that cellman sells, though i heard that are comparable DD hubmotor to what i have which is Nine Continent Kit. you can get it at Ebike.ca. Look for 9c DD hubmotor
@EBikeKit OK Thanks for correcting me, Others have said it was a 9c and it looks just like a 9c but If you say so I will believe you since I bought this from you. :)
@MrStevegibb I want to update my reply. It turns out that my hubmotor is not a 9c it is actually a Direct Drive motor from E-Bikekit(.)com. The motor I run is 1 generations old from 2009. There new motors (3rd Generation) are equipped with plug and play connections and Disk brake comparable. The also have outstanding customer service. Good luck
@golfmania33 Range of one charge of the 10ah (amp hour) battery is about 14 miles or 24 kilometers. If you have a 20ah battery it will be about 28 miles or 48 kilometers. no pedaling. So yes Ah is like gallon of gas for mileage. Keep in mind a 48v 20ah ping battery is going to be about 9.90 kg / 21.90 lbs, not easy to carry on a bike vs a 48v 10ah battery which is like 4.90 kg / 10.8 lbs. Good luck
Wow, i love that there are so many bicycle commuters there! And not a lot of cars, either. That must be a great commute with the electric bike. I ride my electric bike every day, but i rarely ever see any other bicyclists in my area. Click on my name to see my electric bike videos. I have a 500w, and a 1000W that are both a lot of fun. I'll be building another one soon.
Great video. I wish there were more videos of people riding electric bikes through rush hour traffic. Maybe that would convince people to try it out! Your commute is pretty scenic and crazy at parts. I ordered a kit and am patiently waiting and watching videos while I wait. I live in Chicago and can't wait to record me riding past all the traffic. It's probably 10x times worse here than in your video.
@jjj2www, Thanks for the positive comments. I admit I rode pretty reckless in some parts for this video. The main goal was to show how fast a 48v direct drive ebike can go.
I am glad that I can inspire you to finding an alternative to using a car or the train. Ebiking is so much fun even to this very day I ride daily. I even ride through the winter months, switching my summer tires for spike tires and offcourse dress really warm. I wish you luck and if you have any questions shoot me an email.
Great Video Thanks for inspiring me . I ve ' now also done my video commuting in London , My Commuting times (during rush hour) . Car 2.7 v6 24v Hyundai coupe 1:15 min . Public transport ( Bus & Train) 1:25 min . Electric Bike 39 min, WOW . Check my video , youtube only allowed me to post the last 15min . Being In A car in rush hour is just a illusion
@jjj2www I agree, That is why I made this video to show people an alternative to riding in rush hour trafic and it could be so much fun too. Wish you luck in your ebike. Send me a link to your video when you are done building your bike. Best of Luck.
The Ping is actually still going strong. It is a very reliable battery and always delivers atleast 8ah of juice before Low Voltage Cutoff. It maintains over 48v throughout the whole ride until the end. I can recommend this battery highly. The battery is 2 years old and putting in about 150 miles weekly.
@hochdorf100, Yes it is legal! I have TWO switches One for street legal speed of 25kph (15mph) and One switch for offroad for 43kph (26mph). It is advised to use the street legal speed switch when riding in the city. Hope this helps.
in finland bike which use motor over 25 km/h and/or use motor without pedalind need moped driving license, insurance, number plate and on it can not drive by all bicycle paths.
For example in center of helsinki can drive on it by roadways only.
Driving on it by bicycle path in center is prohibited.
Only bike with use motor under 250 wt, which use motor under 25 km/h AND when pedaling only do not need driving license, insurance and number plate and can use it on all bicycle paths.
@hochdorf100 Thanks for sharing about Helsinki, In Stockholm it is the same EU rules. Here in Sweden people prefer to peddle that is why there is not too many e-bikes either.
The funny part is that there are alot of cyclist that can peddle 40+kph and that it is OK. Thats why all the cyclist think e-bikes are a joke, I have witnessed on more than one occasion cyclists race an e-bike and beat him silly, it is fun to watch.
How about you are you a peddler or are you a e-commuter?
xmodelo, I am going about 30 kph or less while in the city, it looks faster because the camera does not have a wide angle lens. About the battery, The higher the voltage the higher the speed. With my current motor this is the speeds I can achieve 36v = 32kph, 48v = 43kph, 72v = 53+kph. If you can get two 24v and run them in Series you can achieve 48v. Hope this helps
@visionm .. thanks for response.. i got my front wheel kit recently 500 watts. i am using 24v about 15mph only.. but unfortunately i shorted the two wires of my battery, so now i dont know if i can still use it, have you got a knowledge on battery thats been shorted? i tried to connect it , but it drain quickly and now its not giving power anyomore, so i am planning to get a new battery, a 48v, but im still asking my supplier if this alright on my kit.. thanks again for help..
king of the road!! hi, how fast you are runnning on this video? i am getting a 24v 500 watts only as i got already a 2v 30ah lion battery.. so you think its not bad kit than 48v? great video.. thanks
@huntman40 Thanks for the compliments, I wish you luck in your build. It will be so much fun for you once you get it running. If you have any questions just let me know.
Great Question! I actually do not go full throttle when i drive through the city. In the city is is safer to stay below full throttle. When I ride in the trails can I go full throttle where there is no danger of cars or pedestrians.
@First2ner I found out after I started using a wattsup meter that I am actually maxing out at 1200 watts when I go full throttle, most of the time I am at half throttle.
And to think, just one open car door could ruin your whole day! :-)
Just lay on the HORN....& ride!
Right, only 250watts....who's brilliant "braindead" political leaders idea was that, or maybe a committee of mothers? Go 2500 watts & 100V's of electrons.
@14sJakeB190 Hello Jake, This e-bike kit with 48v battery can max out at around 40km an hour.
I have ridden motorcycles most of my life and this is the most fun I have had on two wheels. Mostly because an e-bike is so light compared to a motorcycle or a moped, I highly recommend this setup.
Hello Jake, thanks for the compliments. Electric bikes are so much fun especially if you can find on in 48v version they are much faster. This bike i built myself using a kit. It allows me to go atleast 27mph or +40kmh. The beauty is it is completely silent, cost to run is cheap, it can go anywhere bikes go and your the fastest biker out there, even Lance Armstrong can not keep up.
@NxFlash Thanks for the compliment. In the future I plan to get a HD camera and do a little bit better production next time, hopefully showing a more scenery and more angles to make it more exciting fun to watch.
@1975buddhafish Wow 30 miles on a charge! That is really good. I get about 13 to 14 miles on my 10ah battery and my 9c motor and no pedaling with mild to hilly terrain. Thanks for the letting me know your mileage, good to know for those in the market of a 10ah or 15ah battery.

What range can you get out of 1 change with out pedaling?
Is this a 10 ah battery?
Dont know much about batterys but is it the Ah you go by for milage?
like a 20ah will go twice as far as a 10ah? AM I CORRECT?
