  • Where can I download her discography?

  • 日本人の私は、英語が分からないので歌の意味は

    理解出来ません。ただ、マルビナおばさんの顔、写真の

    顔、どこかで見た覚えがあるような気がして、。

  • I love how this song tries to get us to look away from the flashy and simplicity of life. I like it even more because it's mellow and quiet; lot of other songs about this subject often come off as snobby and pretentious. This, however, lets me drift to the "simple" imagery without forcing it down my throat.

  • NICE!!!

  • Truly a genius.

  • that woman's a genius

it keeps me thinking about stuff

  • I think it's a song about the little people. our will to survive even in the face of the big shots. God bless all of us.

  • My heart aches..

  • I will cover this song. You mark my words.. Love it.

  • The theme song for any situation where the truth is supressed and lies propogated, be it by a dictator, an elected leader or a news organization.

  • I love her songs... this is just beatiful

  • this is truly a beautiful song. everything she did was fantastic, but this is exceptionally moving I think.

  • I just meT her and IM IN LOVE!! All her songs are amazing. Theres so much truth you just have to know your history to know what shes talking about. Like her cover says....Malvina Reynolds sings the truth.

  • is she singing about marihuana?

  • @Bombenlegger

Actually, this song was written right after Kennedy's assassination, so it's neither a song about marijuana, nor an ecological one. It's just about the tendency of lies to come to the surface, or at least it's what I think.

  • The truth is so much more than reality can handle. It tAkes over society's suggestings in how we should all live in boxes and walk on the cement. the he'll with that ! I'm walking barefoot in the grass suckas!!!

  • Could be the theme song of the egyptian revolution... stunning how some very simple songs never loose their relevance. I have just started listening to malvina's music and I have to say that she wrote some of the most moving lyrics I have ever heard in my life, I think I even like "god bless the grass" better than "the times they are a changin" by Dylan. And I thought that song was as good as it gets.

  • I..I rock on miss malvina

  • When I was a child my Mother once told me a story of how the truth is like the grass cracking through the pavement. I learned a lot about truth from her. Hearing this song reminds me of her strong beliefs about truth and justice. Thank you Malvina, and thank you whoever posted her music on Youtube. Please post more!

  • I love this song!

  • cant understand why i havent heard her before.

  • @OhSleeperAwake If you've ever seen/heard the intro to Weeds, you have heard Malvina

  • i'm sure there is a little grandma out there somewhere playing these songs to her grandkids.

  • @c64c64c64 i sure plan to play them for my grandkids.

  • i was lucky enough to have pete seeger as a music teacher at downtown community school and camp woodland back in 1951-56, and through him, to meet malvina reynolds...we folk singers all owe her a lot! the more you find out about her, the more you'll get it!

  • thanks for putting these videos up :)

  • HOW DOES NO ONE ONE KNOW ABOUT THIS?

  • Thank you for sharing this, I'm just recently discovering Malvina Reynold's music, and it is a revelation.

  • i love her. God Bless Malvina Reynolds. Her truth lives 50 years later.

  • Aaaamen

  • Jah bless

  • Since no one wants to show Malvina love i'll pop this vids comment cherry. Everyone needs to give thanks for Malvina, her voice and her songs.. and everyone who's feelin them needs to share 'em with friends til we're all singing Malvina songs together. Hell yeah!

  • @dizzyBslummin I'll show the good and great Malvina Reynolds all the love I can muster. I love her songs from this gentle ditty to Morningtown Ride, which I used to sing (in slightly altered) form to my child to her more aggressive (but never crude or vulgar) stuff. I also love this picture of her looking so very much the conservative Grandma!
