@termometen actually, during a full battle they would form a shield wall. Now, granted, the shield walls did not stay solid the entire fight usually, but they were there. In fact many Roman tactics came from the "barbarian" peoples. The tortise, for example, was an idea taken from the Celts

whats your evidence for this? Vikings were more cautious in battle this is true. This wasn't cause they were always better warriors but usually because it is hard to get re-enforced when your people are across the sea and you cannot sail a ship back if you don't have enough people. Vikings used bows fairly often as well. You see them used in numerous sagas, Njal's Saga just being on of them.

Du tror du vet lite mer om min åsikt emot invandrare än vad jag gör altså, det var intressant.. Jag förnekar inte det faktum att människan har olika raser, jag bara inte accepterar folk som anser att de skulle vara olika värda! Att sydostasiater har lättare att utväckla spänstiga muskler än andra, att indianstammarna i Amerika inte kan få skägg och att valoner snabbt bygger starka muskler är alla saker som tyder på att vi är lika uppdelade i raser som vilket djur som helst..

Everything I have ever read says nothing about people being any taller and the FEW sources that mention people being shorter usually have to do with them not eating foods that are very nutrient rich. When you look at the daily intake of food for a person on the middle ages it is less than that of a person today.
