Also, Heartbreaker, in my opinion, is one of his best albums, so don't even say Heartbreaker sucks. Good singer, but I'm very surprised that the band was able to use "The Cardinals" name.

The Cardinals who were one of the greatest singing groups that recorded for Atlantic Records, started recording in the early 1950s, and still occasionally perform live. I wonder if The original Cardinals are aware of it.

Ryan Adams is a good song writer. Political Scientists is one of my favorite songs.

Ryan Adams is NOT a great song writer (prepares for flamers).

He creates a mood, this is a talent of his. He can make industrial pop rock sound good (see the album "RockandRoll"), and he can draw you into to his sadness. So yes, he is quite talented. But he is not timeless yet.

One of these days he will write a truly great song. Until then, he is someone whose albums you buy to keep up with relevant music.
