do you HAVE to use SSL? we don't have SSL on our Exchange server and i noticed by default when you set up the Exchange account it makes it SSL. Adter it's setup (and failed ot connect) I can turn SSL off, but still..it doesn't connect.

Then turn ON SSL.. your IT people need to go back to school and learn how to enable the basic security functionality of corporate email. NO ONE should be using email and passing through security credentials without using encryption such as SSL.
