I do wonder about your definition of 'pacificst. Not sure a pacifist would even carry a shilelegh, let along club someone with it.
I don't think this poem was written as much about being "pacificstic" or anti-war, as much as it was about the specific circumstances of the napoleonic wars and the English trying to recruit the Irish to go fight.
I hope your friend Jenny let's you keep that guitar too...So you can post more videos of your playing on it!
