I was 50 years old and crawling on the floor because of this this. i could walk at all. I did the bio freeze. it only last 1 year. i need help i can not walk again. my only other option is surgery
actually it's a combination of all the above! I've had it since last July and now it seems to get better. A night splint is very helpful indeed as well as massage by a physiotherapist.
anyone try shockwave. ive had this 5 years and finally getting an mri to see true causes at this point i catn walk and cry at night it sucks at only 37. i go to exercise but then it only makes this worse..horrid cycle.
Shockwaves, 4 cortezone shots in the bottoms of my feet to the bone, physio therapy, insoles, stretching, splints, shoes. Had it 3 years. I'm 17. Tried to join the Canadian Army, couldn't because of foot pain. Wanted to go out with friends. Couldn't. Wanted to learn to dance. Couldn't. Wanted to run for excersize. Couldn't. Wanted to WALK TO THE FUCKING STORE. Couldn't. If this isn't done soon I'm gonna fucking kill myself. All my doctors said it was an extremely bad case. No more, man, no more.
ya, i've tried massage therapy. i've tried everything and the pain is still indescribable. i don't really walk at all anymore. I'll probably try jumping off a bridge one of these days, see if that helps.
@fakelegsrealfeet My mom had HORRIBLE pain from it and was seeing a chiropractor for it. She says the treatment and "exercises" were extremely painful, but she's now 100% better (provided she wears proper/good quality shoes). Maybe you could look into chiropractic. If it hurts that much it might be worth looking into every option. :)
I have it in both feet in same time, it's a lot of pain!! It hjelps me when the feet been taped! I have toe-walked for several month because it really hurts when walking on the heals, but don't do that because that will be to the worse in the end because it will be more swollen and it will take longer time to treat it. Tape the foot and try to walk on the foot! This information is good!
i just got this... it sucks. the guy that posted: "it has nothing to do with rugby OR running.
... this plantar pain is a walk in the park compared to calf pain."
is hilarious! it has alot to do with running. also when you can't stand up, you can't take a 'walk in the park' literally. he probably had a misdiagnosis or was REALLY lucky that his magic ligaments healed in a week. the average time for this to heal is months and sometimes years. It feels the same as when i broke my heel
I have been feeling that pain for 3 months now and I took the naproxen tablets for a whole month it didn't help.Just came back from the doc and he told me to start wearing soles.I am on my feets all day , i totally depend on them.I am devastated.Like I wake up in the morning and I can't use my left foot for like 5 mn, i can't run downstairs like I use to.My health is my wealth like for real.
I wonder if this is what i have. It doesnt just hurt in the morning tho. it's a constant unbearable pain. doctors havent helped me. i really need advice. i can barely walk anymore and im only 21 and im in good shape. it hurts so bad.
does it hurt when you rest your foot for a few hours without moving it ? cos this is what happens to me. If I stand up suddenly I will feel the extreme pain.I have to do some sport activities next year and I would be suicidal if by June it hasn't healed . All I can do right now is try to pray it away .
@cannoir ugh i know exactly how u feel, i'm still dealing with it. Stretching helps though. I feel like i'm SLOWLY getting better. You probably shouldn't commit suicide over this...but to each his own. Also, stretching works way better than prayer. i don't think the placebo effect really works on physical injuries too well....try insoles.
I just bough a couple of those gummy soles.wow it takes sometime to get used to. I am not comfy with them but I still feel like someone is strectching the tendons.Over the week end all I did was stretching twisting the foot left and right.Good god the pain is unexcruciable. If I had to choose I'd rather feel some pain in my left arm.Oh Jesus.
@cannoir yeah, it's been five months and i'm just now starting to get better. be careful not to overstretch or the backs of your legs will start hurting really bad too. I'm glad to see you didn't commit suicide yet. you could always drink the pain away.
i have it and im a binman so have to run 10 miles a day its never gonna heal till i quit the job!! btw get a tens machine off amazon bout £30 i put two electrodes on my foot every night high number for bout 30 minutes, really recommend it, almost pain free next day
@Raymasaki --> I wish mine was just a week, this past year it has been getting worse. Finally made an appointment to get it looked at. I am sure I will need supports for my work boots/sneakers and I'm guessing a boot at night to keep the area stretched out.
Great info - I run a great deal and often get pain in my plantar fascia and arch. KT Tape has always worked very well for me. It helps stop the pain immediately and seems to help me recover much faster than other things I've tried.
@Raymasaki What I'm saying is, because of all the sports I have played I have soften the tissue on the bottom of my feet. The Doctor even said it was because of my sports that helped plantar fasciitis occur ..
u know i have found that by standing up w/ one of your leg bent backward from the knee then tapping ur foot downwards to the floor using that fleshy pad right below ur toe under ur foot alleviates a lot of the pain !
I have had this condition and it was very painful. The solution for me was Orthotics, I bought the "Phase 4" orthotics advertised on TV and they worked the miracle.
i have had this for 6 months the drs waiting list is so long im in so much paiiiiiin its a small comfort to know im not the only one hope u all fel better soon!
I basically stopped working due to this condition, I only work 2 days now. Damn my feet hurt, changed so many shoes, insoles and still looking for a treatment. I've heard shots should be the last option, as they only kill the pain, not treat the microtears.
Night Splint is supposed to be the best. Haven't tried it.
I'd never worn trainers in my life but my daughter found out about Skecher's Shapeups. I got some and am cured. They are very supportive and, while you use them, your foot is stretched with every step. I now don't even bother with orthotics in my other shoes.
ive got this injection 4 da 2nd time,da doc but me 2 sleep n inject my heel,oh lord my god,i got up i cant walk at all,its 1 week now n i cant walk i cant go 2 work anymore,im going back 2 da doc again 2 ask wats going on,is there any1 out there have this injection?thank god im alive i thought i die alreay, still my body is so weak 2 specially my left sideof my body.
I found the perfect relief and it was reasonably priced! I had constant pain from P.F. in my right heel. I found Happy Feet insoles at a tradeshow and have been pain free after wearing them for only 3 days. I no longer have that pain when I walk! I paid $40 for them which is wayyyy less than the orthotic my podiatrist wanted to prescribe me and they have a 1 year warranty, too! The promo code/coupon listed on the package says 602. Hope this helps you too!!
my pain is in my left foot heal only and goes up to the inside of my shin and knee i had a work accident on my right foot and am missing half of my second toe from the big one -probably why it only effects my left foot as it is settled differently i need to see a doctor
PF has been bothering me for years. Didn't know what it was. Now I have a job where I'm on my feet all day and then I have to walk home. Balls of my feet hurt like hell, too. Like walking on little marbles. Not the worst pain I've ever had, but it's very unpleasant.
3 weeks ago, i woke up and from nowhere, i just couldnt walk properly on my left legt. bottom of my foot specialy at the heel area was just killing me. i just dont know where the fuk it came from other than it was the same week of started wearin flip flop and for the 1st time ever where it seems i am not used to it, 10 days after, the pain started to take itself oput gradually specially with sinkin my foot on freezin water for about once a day, its almost gone now but with 10% sense of pain!
@z370Toronto Flip flops are the worst thing to wear for this condition as they offer no support to the arch. I advise ordering phase 4 orthotics online which is cheaper then having them custom made by a doctor.
Im working 14 hours a day on my feet and now I have this condition in my right foot. Worse Im now told Ill have it for up to 18 months. I really dont need this.
@scottclements78 u have 2 ask ur doc 4 a certificate work cover because its related 2 work, report first 2 ur boss then see da doc again,i neally missed out but my doc says dat i stand 2 long n walk 2 much on my feet,so dont miss out, work cover will pay everything, its not our fault being hurt its da work dat we do.I miss work heaps i miss my mates, 2 weeks im not working my heel is swallen n i cant even walk on it,now my toes r stess because im walking on my toes oh my lord,y u punish me?haha
i try dat injection n its not working, iveg ot MRI scan,i went 2 da specillist yesterday n he say i have 2 try dis injection put me 2 sleep n inject my heel,im worry ive got 2 beautiful kids n who knows mayb i will never wake up if they put me 2 sleep,oh lord its scary,im stress im tired of dis pain,i can fell every1 pain bcause ive got da same, im 39years old n i feel like im 80,hah.May god bless every1 n i guess im going 2 suck it in da pain haha.
oh man i try everything, still painful,im on work cover because im on my feet 8am-5pm picking n packing 4 6yrs now,QBE is my company insurence n they r very good, they prove it 4 da first time i put da claim in,when u on ur feet dat long this kind of job on ur feet all day dats where this pain from.Ionly can work for 4 hours a day now sitting n its hurts when i stand up to go home,i done everything like strech phisio injection still da pain is killing me.
This damn thing hurts. And I thought I was in great shape. I started wearing new sandals that I usually dont wear, 3 weeks later I have heel pain. I thought I just bruised it but after 3 weeks of this and pain in the morning BAM here I am.
@silkybreeze i know ive got da same im sill on da treatment n its make me more pain 2 go 2 c da doc, scan x ray im sick of it,im sure we r all gonna b fine,i gess we have 2 blame Eve da pain haha,n still more pain, cheer up my friend
@917mccarthy I've also taken the shot(injection) on one heel (left)to try if it works, but it worked only for 3 months & the pain has returned more aggresively,so no point in gettiing that injection on other heel .I've tried all the tips shown here, but the moment i stand on my feet i feel the pain on both the heels, damn, feel like chopping of my feet.,Now i've bought scoot mobile,i use it when i go to market, zoo, amusement park, coz that time u really have to use ur feet a lot.My life sucks now.
I have suffered with this in both feet. I self diagnosed myself. Every single symptom matches up. It's brutal. It started in '04 and continued through 07 and then subsided but never went away and now it is middle of 2010 and its coming back with a vengeance. I noticed when i stopped stretching and icing it got way better. I stand and walk on concrete 8 plus hours a day 5 to 6 days a week. When i squat on the floor I overstretch and put all my weight on my big toe. It's dreadful.
i dont know if i got this, but for like 3 mths now, this part of my heel hurts alot after long hours of standing or walking. and i have to sit and when I press on the spot, it's extremely sore and painful. It's near the end of my sole (heel) and my left leg. It really hurts like hell sometimes.
All this made my condition worse, if you have severe plantar fasciitis do not stretch or massage it, you'll only make it worse. This is the only thing that helped my chronic form of this condition: heel pain clinic in north sydney
that is what i have but because i felt down tendon are lose and heel is getting bad and i have tear walking around make me feel more pain my doctor thinks that i may need jugery but i have diabetis
Great video. I had this 10 years ago and now it's back again. I went for a long walk last night and now I'm limping all over my house. I'm going to use your suggestions.
So It seems like it just happens when you step out of bed. Well what if the pain just won't stop? with every step it feels like I stepped on something sharp. Could this be what you just watch ^up there?
@naxps - that's what my PF was like when it first hit, and it got worse and worse until I started to treat it. I'm on month three and the PF is still there... hopefully, it'll continue to get better...
get the book injury afoot by patrick hefner it will help alot if you follow his advice i know how horrendouse this condition is you can get the book on EBAY
@scaramoochscaramooch yeah but what a difference it makes, instant pain relief, I got up and walked out of the doctors a new man, however it is not a long term solution. It lasted roughly six months for me and then it came back.
I just got my second cortisone shot yesterday, while i was working out I heard a pop. I think the fascia ruptured. Cant see the doc till tuesday, any suggestions of what to do would be VERY helpful!
@jzboxer77 In 1990 my plantar fascia ruptured. I heard a pop and and "electric" type of shock. My foot was flat on the floor. It took two years to find a surgeon to repair it.
I used stretches described in the book "Injury Afoot: 30 Things You Can Do to Relieve Plantar Fasciitis," sold on Amazon. It's full of easy-to-understand suggestions. Also, I used cold packs regularly. Both of my feet had plantar fasciitis before, and now it's pretty much gone.
Also, don't accept cortisone shots or have surgery for P.F. Conservative therapy is all you should need.
Podiatrist wrapped my foot for a week and I took Naproxene. I also bought a footlog from a running store to roll my foot over and massage the tendon. Then I bought a thick rubber mat to skip rope on. I hurt my foot this time from skipping on cement. Feels better now. Good luck.
good to hear the wrapping worked..after 2 weeks of struggle now i got to know this wrapping/tapping and i m trying it, hope it gives some relief to me.
Just been diagnosed with this and yes it hurts. It seems to effect the whole foot. Does it also make your foot/ankle click as well as I've noticed a clicking sound from my foot when I move it back and forth?
Thank you for this. I have a long-standing case of plantar fasciitis which has lately hurt pretty badly, so am re-educating myself regarding treatment; I appreciate this information.
I was 50 years old and crawling on the floor because of this this. i could walk at all. I did the bio freeze. it only last 1 year. i need help i can not walk again. my only other option is surgery

Today i had work fro about 8 to 9 hours. Its a standing job.
During the end of my shift, i felt sharp pain on both of my heels. :(
I came home and realized its swollen. I cant walk much, i limp alot.
Could i have this problem?
Should i wear similar to an splint overnight?

@917mccarthy I've also taken the shot(injection) on one heel (left)to try if it works, but it worked only for 3 months & the pain has returned more aggresively,so no point in gettiing that injection on other heel .I've tried all the tips shown here, but the moment i stand on my feet i feel the pain on both the heels, damn, feel like chopping of my feet.,Now i've bought scoot mobile,i use it when i go to market, zoo, amusement park, coz that time u really have to use ur feet a lot.My life sucks now.

@silkybreeze what is scoot mobile?

Plantar fasciosis?
richiepow7 1 year ago

GAEUL1985 1 year ago
what if the tearing pain is along the entire length, is that still FP or something else?
mettabee 1 year ago
All this made my condition worse, if you have severe plantar fasciitis do not stretch or massage it, you'll only make it worse. This is the only thing that helped my chronic form of this condition: heel pain clinic in north sydney

@wiks5 very interested in what treatment they gave you

I also suffer from it, and it's horrible. You can't do anything if it hurts, just lay on the couch..

Could this be what you just watch ^up there?
naxps 1 year ago
@naxps - that's what my PF was like when it first hit, and it got worse and worse until I started to treat it. I'm on month three and the PF is still there... hopefully, it'll continue to get better...

the cortizone shots very painful
scaramoochscaramooch 2 years ago
@scaramoochscaramooch yeah but what a difference it makes, instant pain relief, I got up and walked out of the doctors a new man, however it is not a long term solution. It lasted roughly six months for me and then it came back.

I just got my second cortisone shot yesterday, while i was working out I heard a pop. I think the fascia ruptured. Cant see the doc till tuesday, any suggestions of what to do would be VERY helpful!
jzboxer77 2 years ago
@jzboxer77 In 1990 my plantar fascia ruptured. I heard a pop and and "electric" type of shock. My foot was flat on the floor. It took two years to find a surgeon to repair it.

Great video. Very informative. I guess I need to invest in a quality pair of orthodics and keep doing the stretch exercises.
musicalfriends 2 years ago

Good luck.
Spartacus217 2 years ago
good to hear the wrapping worked..after 2 weeks of struggle now i got to know this wrapping/tapping and i m trying it, hope it gives some relief to me.

Just been diagnosed with this and yes it hurts. It seems to effect the whole foot. Does it also make your foot/ankle click as well as I've noticed a clicking sound from my foot when I move it back and forth?
