I saw Michael Manring play with Don Ross. Fuck that was a great concert. I wish spastic ink could play concerts :(
Just like metal is an umbrella term, Progressive is a vague word to categorize everything that doesn't fit in elsewhere. That's my interpretation of the word, but who needs labels? Just keep loving music :)
@CyValkarion no, it really is progressive. There's nothing weirder than progressive technical metal. Even neo-classical genre can go suck Prog's dick.
@Jman0101 Only in progression. However, I must agree on some level. Good ear! May I point out though....that many of these progressions could be traced back to classical origins. May I suggest Chris Broderick as an example of what it means to be a classically trained metal musician? ;-) BTW. HUGE Jarzombek fan here!
@oxlodapac I just googled young child or something, didn't realise who it was. Her case wasn't publicised where I live (Canada). Now that i know who it is, yeah not the best idea.
Man this song was sooo good but I was really turned off by that cheesy synth-solo in the middle... Plus all the talking. Oh well. Listen to it anyways.
i was an aspiring guitarist until i discovered spastic ink. now i just stare at my axe while it gathers dust in the corner, knowing i could never come close to this.
...Uh, AaL IS metal dude, and additionally, if anything, Tosin and AaL sound more like Spastic Ink versus them sounding like AaL, but I don't really think Abasi takes much influence from RJ anyway, or at least to my knowledge.
"""excuse me sir im looking for a word processor, i want to be able to control page breaks. and " ? " copy and paste, change the preset " ? ", oh yeah and create bookmarks! do you have anything like that sir?""""""
@spipiaoudjajikoh Fuck i told you it's manringg on that bass solo, look at the picture while the solo, and if you kwnew his style of playing, it's totally him on that solo evident!! That fretless sound!! Perez don't play on a freless!!
1:15 - Multitracking is a beautiful thing. He could have built that up into a thousand harmonizing guitars and it still would have sounded incredible.
Haha the pictures are fucking hilarious. When that bass guy came in HAHAHAHA
