This girl sings beyond her years. She is fantastic in the tradition of the great voices of our time. Newsflash though, as much as I love her big voiced soaring ballads, she can sing other styles as well. You watch in the future what kind of range she shows.
She can sing Mariah, Whitney, and Beyonce...how many women can you think of with that kind of talent? I can think of one: Melanie Amaro. She's got a bright future ahead of her, and I hope Josh Krajcik does too. They are both talents in different areas of music, her in R&B, he in soul and blues. Saying one is better than the other is like saying Whitney Houston is better than Michael Jackson. They're both incredibly gifted at their type of music, and so are Melanie and Josh. I say bravo to both!

@TmHj011 I think its NICE to see a singer that is not barbie doll skinny. If she got super thin I dont think id like her as much. She is a BEAUTIFUL real woman. Beautiful talented women like her make women look at themselves and say I am beautiful just the way God made me. America obviously could care less about her weight, seeing as she WON! well this girl surely has a better voice than the Mariah of now, it reminds me of the power of Mariah's voice when Mariah was her age, you know, like on her first studio album back on her late 19 early 20's. hope Melanie can take care of this gift and preserve the voice and not to trash it as Mariah did. Glad Paula also pointed to the real author of the song which is Walter A, cause everybody say it's an MC song when it obviously is not. didn't like the arrangement to this version though

As I read many comments from the haters, saying she doesn't have as a powerfull voice as so and so like Charice or Celine or Mariah, and maybe it is true, however it is her voice that attracks me to her. I mean the tonallity of her voice that is so beautifull. And she has a powerfull enough voice anyway. I never bought a cd from Charice or Mariah because their voice (tonallity) doesn't do a thing to me. But I can't wait to buy Melanie's first cd cause I won't tire to listen to her voice.

melanie had a pitch problem because simon lowered the pitch of the song to sound more original...listen to paula's complaint near the end... all haters should get lost...she won people...done deal... and she won for a reason !!! vocal talent ! love u melanie !
