The minute-repeater is a feature which allows you to tell the time on your watch when you can't see the dial (usually at night, or in places of low light). They were originally found on high-grade pocket watches, before the days of glow-in-the-dark hands and/or dials. But they're now found on both pocket-watches & wristwatches. One of the most awesome complications (if I may call it that), ever created.
