In other words, they'll be judged according to what they knew and understood, and held accountable to do the best with what they understood. Jesus also said that the people who persecuted "would not be guilty of sin if they had not seen the miracles he performed" when they killed him, indicating again that it matters what people understand.

Do you not get it? Why the offer that Abel brought was more acceptable? He came to God acknowledging that nothing he could do in his own power was worthy. Nothing I do is good enough for me to be saved. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Cain's was offensive because it didn't acknowledge God in any part. The Bible doesn't mention whether Cain went to hell or not? Much of this sermon by Pastor Franklin is very good, but some things like Cain being in hell is for effect.
