He's one of my favourite players but his workrate was a bit low and even thou I'm a fan of Hosea's I can see why they left him out. If he had a workrate like his brother Rico he'd be in the team for sure. Unfortunate to miss out but like Wayne Smith said if Zac or Toeava didn't have such versatility and weren't on form Hosea would have been in the team

Roks was a greagt but is simply not as good as he has been in the past. Certainly good enough to play at S15 level but not necesserily at test level with the current competition. The arguement regarding his experience going into a world cup is a good one as you need some experience there but the wingers need to be explosively accelerating try scoring machines in this current world of running rugby. So the jury is obviously out as NZ is spoilt for choice of wingers.

@bombertheelephant On current form Hosea's alot better then Roks. Roks has had the better career overall I'll give you that but at the moment he's just lacking that spark he use to have. Hosea had an average 2010 Super14 because of injury but he played well for the NzMaori and scored 11 trys in the Anz Cup 2009 and also was leading try scorer in the Anz Cup 2008 scoring 14 trys setting a record.

They need someone who is solid on Defense and is almost always guaranteed to break tackles. Hosea showed out against two northern hemisphere teams and people were saying he's an All black! Against England? Please. I notice Donald is hitting some form too but we all know the story there.

In this video thou all I see is Roks being fended off then Toeava and Rudi Wulf was lucky the ref blew the whistle because he would have got ran over too. If you haven't seen my other videos Hosea scores a 55m intercept try with Roks trailing and in the same game bunts off 3 players in a row :)

@bombertheelephant I'm still waiting on these stats? I've taken on Hosea's form in the last 3 seasons of Rugby. It took Roks 2 years to score a try since the RWC for the All Blacks. I like Roks I'm not a Roks hater It's just that on current form he's lacking and I'd rather see players picked for the EOYT on form rather then reputation. Colin Slade > Aaron Cruden, Robert Fruean > SBW, Hosea Gear > Joe Rokocoko, Lelia Masaga > Sitiveni Sivivatu. Do you catch my drift?

Can't take anything away form Hosea to be fair but who knows really why he doesn't get a crack the only thing I can think of is that he is a specialist and given Henry and co.'s concerns over people getting hurt leading up to RWC they tend to try and cover several possies with one player. Who knows as someone mentioned Hosea could be the darkhorse at RWC sprung on the unsuspecting teams at the tourney in 2011. Now that would add to the drama for sure!

Rocks started off as a brilliant finisher of tries. Just that the game got rough and he worked out he couldn't hug the touch line any more so he started putting a lot of in the mid field (which is handy to have him and Nonyu to bash open the line). The down side is that he seemed to have forgotten how to score tries.

It wouldn't be wrong to pick any wing from among Hosea, Rocks, Jane, Ranger or Dag. It just depends on the game you play.
