  • This is mother nature during her period.

    Amazing video, by the way.

  • lol way to put it.

  • I used to live 30 mins from this volcano, for 3 years, I lived through this eruption, it's not as bad as it looks.

  • kool this really helped my with my project

  • This was so cool and it totally helped me with my homework. I had to make 10 original onomatopoeias for volcano sounds.

  • VERY AMAZING! SPECTACULAR VIDEO!

  • omg ive never seen anything like that not only is that scary but that truely is amazing

  • simpatico

  • its like a roar of a lion amazing

  • wow that's so amazing! cool

  • Quite a bit of my roots are in Sicily.I've never ben there, but I've heard a little about Mt. Etna. Thanks for posting!

  • cool!

  • The lateral explosion at 22 second is impressive.

  • I wonder if anyone has thought about the fact that this movie has been manipulated so that the sight and the sound are now coordinated. Sound takes about 5 seconds to travel one mile. Assuming that these pictures were taken from perhaps 4 miles (or farther) away, the sound of the explosions would have taken about 20 seconds to arrive. By re-dubbing the sound and picture, you get a much more interesting presentation.

  • pity we can't use all that power...

  • Ino...Some geologists say we could power the whole of Great Britain with that energy!

  • I wouldn't be surprised...

Did you know that the sun provides enough energy to meet world's annual energy demand every minute?

  • Really?? Cool! There must be some way to use it...hmmm

  • ahh ok ty ^^

  • This volcano actually erupted in 1943 during the WWII Allied invasion of Sicily.

  • lol, in 1943 there was no coloured television. the volcano erupted on more time in 2001. nub :)

  • He means it ALSO erupted in 1943. Etna is much more active than people realise.

  • there was coloured television in 1943 already

  • That volcano is so hot! (In 2 ways)

  • volcano's rock!!

  • thats the volcanoe that destroyed pompei in AD?

  • no, you're thinkig of Vesuvius, a few hundred miles north on mainland Italy.

Vesuvius isn't currently active, but Etna, on Sicily, just off the toe of the Italian peninsula, is one of the most active volcanoes on earth.

  • yeah but it is a really hot fart!!!

  • earth just farted

  • Earths Zit

  • i think everyone knows volcanos are pretty devastating, but u have to admit its a beautiful sight... if ur not that close

  • Just another thought on that: Youtube is famous for having very bad synch problems at times. Some videos get murdered in the "processing" stage, after uploading.

  • It would be amazing to see in person.

The audio is real. Compare it to other videos. If this was filmed by geologists, they are sure to have several mics near the volcano. It could also have been edited to compensate for the sound delay. Most news stations do it, because they know there are alot of stupid people that would get confused.

People who understand that sound moves at a set speed depending on altitude and temperature generally don't need to be babied in the same way.

  • Mi fa paura anche guardare il video o.o sarà qualcosa di ancestrale boh

  • gosh look at that...

  • Yah it right. That is fake audio.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Fake audio!!! we all know that if you were close enough to hear the sound at the same time as the eruption that you would be cooked!!

and it sounds so crap anyways not like a volcano would. and were suppost to think the sound is real. god how i hate fake sound tracks sometimes! the real thing sounds much better!!!

    But very good clips

  • looks like a news builitin of US freindly fire!

  • PELE!!!!

  • That mountain's mighty pissed!

  • Wow thats amazing you know its just clearing its throat it didnt sing yet

  • angry !!!!

  • damnnnn must be hot up there xD

    nice vid

  • maravilhoso esse video!!!

  • its sobering to think that that kind of potential destruction is right beneath our feet.

  • Brilliant!!!, when was the eruption? many lava flows afterwards?

  • This is breathtaking footage with awesome explosions. A fantastic video. I must show my science pupils this video.

  • that's a decent fart.

  • nice vid, quite amazing

  • The footage was great, but marred by the annoying URL at the top of the screen, and the attempt at snazzy editing. I chose to put it my favourites, but purely for the wonder of the natural spectacle. The person who created the vid only managed to detract from something marvellous. Shame.

  • Amazing video, only the text at the begining is a bit too short to read... however great pictures! Well documented.

  • wau!...it is difficult to believe that romanians invented the volcano ! did they sell this one to italy?

  • romanians did not invent the volcanos...who told you this? i presume you should be an american, only them are naive enough to believe this kind of stuff...ha, ha!

  • lol! i'm an american! (and tou know, you're right)!

  • awesome
