  • why do thay say sir

  • coming up next...buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

then sleep in 72 hours from now. ha ha ha ha

i showed up wearing just shorts tshirt and flip flops so that way i didnt have to carry around extra weight

  • as a recruit, you will adress EVERY civvie and serviceman as Sir or Ma'am. You're a recruit, that's all. After Boot Camp, after earning the Title United States Marine, then you are held to a higher disciplined standard. Now you will still address civvies as Sir or Ma'am, Officers as Sir or Ma'am, and all enlisted personnel according to their rank.

  • @hitthecouch

b/c we're still recruits, not Marines yet. I guess u can say we haven't earned the right to call them by their ranks.

  • @redtib2003 EXACTLY, EXACTLY.

  • Can somebody tell me why do the recruits call the DI sir? I am not familiar with the corp, but I spent 9 years (98-07) as an artilleryman in the Army. If we called our NCOs or DS sir it was an insult. We never wanted to be compared to our lazy ass officers.

  • @hitthecouch My dad is a retired marine officer, he said that it is disrespectful in the marines to not adress them as sir because they have more experience then you.

  • @hitthecouch as a recruit, you will adress EVERY civvie and serviceman as Sir or Ma'am. You're a recruit, that's all. • @bustedupXbox Appreciate it.

  • what do the bags have in them and what do they check?

  • Okay question, the two answers "Yes, Sir" and "Eye, eye Sir" what's the difference? I have no military background but have debating off and on for years about joining, I'm guessing "Yes, Sir" is to a question and "Eye, eye Sir" is to a command? And I know I spelled the Eye eye part wrong but wasn't sure how that would be spelled out so its easier to spell it like that ha.

  • @alinzana your right yes sir is answer a question and aye aye sir is an acknowledment of a command or what theyre telling you

  • @alinzana The spelling is "Aye aye, sir". You are correct about the difference. "Aye aye sir" means you acknowledge the command and will obey it immediately.

  • @alinzana example. "Do you understand?" YES, SIR. or "Go report to the the Staff Sergeant Bolen." "Aye, Sir," or "Aye Aye, Sir." Aye aye, Gunnery Sergeant, or Aye, SSgt. Aye, or aye aye, either way is OK.

  • sure brings back memories nov.28 1993-1997

  • i use to hate when they would do this.

  • what are they throwing on the ground? and why are they doing it?

  • DI's are the sex :)

  • omg what's that Indian doing there

  • I have much love for the Marines, esp my fellow tankers. We all go to the same place to train.

  • We have to be tough on recruits more then ever before. These kids come from homes where they do what they want and get what they want. They think rappers are gangsters, discipline. They learn it that on X-box or playstation. If you have ANY doubt, in your mind that you might not make it, just stay home, your recruiter is lying, go talk to the army, navy, or air force. Where they sing and march, don’t care how you look in uniform, or call each other by their 1st name instead of their rank! DI

  • @1LORENZOUTUBE ooooo mother freak'n rah!!

  • damn this video brings back memories.

that week was the worst part of boot camp

  • " aye aye " LMFAO west coast marines

  • lol i like how they brain wash them. seeing a citizen just become a ruthless killer.

  • @alen209 Would you want a punch of pansies defending your country?

  • @cbcnate people must defend them selves not government

  • @alen209 You're a moron.. if we had no government military, we would be overrun by any country that decided we had something they want.

Marines, as well as EVERY OTHER BRANCH OF SERVICE, fight, and have fought to defend your sorry ass's right to post stupid shit like this on Youtube... hell.. they fight to defend just about every goddamn thing you do. So I'd advise you to keep your mouth shut or man up and join the services yourself.

  • @alen209 you're ignorant. they don't get brainwashed.

  • Ignorance. Every branch does their part in defending and serving this country. Few people care who's boot camp is harder.

  • @PankrationWarrior no its an option. i never did, but some ppl did just to hide pictures. i do not recommend it cuz they will check

  • marines go through marine corps boot camp and can go to any other branch and nbot have to go through their weak ass boot camp. any other branch comes over to marine corps, doesnt matter if you were a fucking first sgt or officer you go through our boot camp. proof enough that our training is longer harder and the best?

  • haha all those footprints

  • I'm an Army guy (21 years) and I have to give credit where credit is due......these guys are the gold standard for recruit training. In the Army, we just don't even compare to these guys......sorry, but its the God's honest truth. Army we need to get with their program!!!!!

  • @maxximumforce ..Holy cow!! An Army Dog who speaks the truth. Why is it so hard for so many from other branches to admit that their boot camp or basic training is not equal to that of the USMC?

  • @23PorkNBeans they don't admit it because their foolish pride won't allow it. They (the Army) wants to reinvent the wheel instead of doing what obviously works. The Army is PC and touchy-feelly. They lower the standard to the lowest common denominator to keep numbers up.

I used to think its because the Marines pick super humans to recruit....not true. I will use your own SDI speech "A Marine is characterized by discipline and spirit. anyone can be a Marine if the develop discipline and spirit"

  • @maxximumforce thank you for giving us our credit. Most guys wont listen. they think we're bigheaded.

  • I went to Parris Island for Recruit Training but visited MCRD San Diego back in 2001 and saw a Glimpse of their Processing which is different from MCRD PI...Both Pain Island and Sand Dog are Damn Good to Go!

  • "Death smiles at everyone. Marines smile back."

  • i dont get it, what are they doin in the video lol?

  • @xxxEmmureOwnxxx going through the stuff they brought to boot camp. Some things are not allowed, it's basically the drill instructors going through what each recruit has to make sure there is no contraband or forbidden things like pocket knives, dip, cigs, and shit like that.

  • What's recieveing?

  • @puppieeyes223 receiving is the first 5 days of basic. its hell.

  • @drummer1200, thanks.

  • @drummer1200 ..If you want to become a Marine one day or want USMC info, go read through the website that is linked on my profile page. It goes to a website for future Marines.

  • This is the thought going through each one their heads "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into" "oh crap what did I get my self into"
  • Senior Drill Instructor Eyepatch is one hard ass dude.

  • 0:47

WOW!! That guy got off easy, the DI just corrected him xD

  • @laurensmalter only in boot camp while you are a recruit do you call everyone higher ranking than you whether it be enlisted or officer "sir". once you complete the crucible and become a marine you call all enlisted by their rank. but all officers you still call "sir" and salute if wearing a cover.

  • im confused, i thought u only responded with sir when talking to an officer??

  • @MIDNswagg Sir is used against anyone ranked higher then you, but I think you only have to say 'Sir' to NCO's & Officers, so a private doesn't have to call a PFC 'Sir'.

  • OLD SOLIDIERS NEVER DIE THEY JUST FADE AWAY

  • Hi outta there, it's been fun reading your competition between legs, wings and Air Force. Being German Para, I wonder if all that hard training pays off when your Platoon leader gets blasted away and your platoon is with no NCO...as Major Fairbanks (Founder of the SAS in WW2) stated: "I don't need brawns, I need brains." Well, this guy only formed the world's best elite unit, so I suppose he knew what he was talking about...so, all super brawns in here, take it easy.

  • fuck no never again

  • LoL this is good stuff. There are a few differences that I noticed between the Corps and Army training. There is no quarter deck in the Army, a DS will just smoke you where ever you are at and of course there is no Naval slang or terminology in the Army whatsoever. And I think Marines do D&C better than the Army. They sure look sharp. Other than that, it's all the same shit. All I remember during basic was getting the shit smoked out of me all day EVERY day.

  • what goes in the white bag?

  • well i did almost piss myself the first day i had chow. lol but no, they don't hit and slap you. the PT could be hard at times but i didn't mind it. as for the marines, im not sure what they do.

  • The one thing i don't understand about the Corps is why they call their NCO's "sir" We would get fucked up if we called an NCO sir. Only officers and civilians are refered to as sir. What do you guys call your officers?? The first and last words out of your mouth at Benning are Drill Sergeant. Nothing else.

  • @FrankDeSonia11B Having been through USMC recruit training myself I can tell you it is just recruits that call all people -- whether they be civilian, military (enlisted or officer) of any rank - sir/mam. Recruits are lower than dirt if you will, so they haven't earned the right to call any Marine by their rank. From private to Sergent Major, they are referred by as sir/mam till they have graduated. Then they have the right to call the enlisted by solely their rank.

  • @sliver01 That makes sense. And believe me do i know that feeling of being lower than a piece of dog shit! But you can see how branches differ. If my Drill Sergeants would have seen me call a private (even if he had graduated OSUT already) "sir" i would have been fuckin tore up! lol Even after you graduate infantry osut in the Army if you're a private, they still treat you like shit. God forbid if you're a POG private in the Army and get caught doing something stupid by an Infantry NCO. no good

  • @USMCFUCKYEA yup. my batallion has a shit ton of SF drill sergeants. Fort Benning is jus one long smoke session man. The company i was in is under investigation by the FBI for physical abuse by the drill sergeants. The infantry training brigade at Benning is old school! haha

  • @FrankDeSonia11B

CID is constantly going around Sand Hill man, most times is exaggerated shit, people that can't take it and bitch about the DS doing their job; because they don't want to admit that they are weak.

  • @FrankDeSonia11B Please don't make up garbage. I was there also. The FBI/IG crap is just a PVT trying to sound hard.

  • last year

  • I would be like pyle, not knowing how to do anything

  • @dwondo we went to basic training too. If that comment is you trying to prove ur better than us, i would consider that an EPIC FAIL :)

    Love,

A Senior Airman Proudly Serving in the USAF

  • tony is right all branches serve the same country but the Marines train harder, but none of that matters when your time is up. Semper Fi

  • Reading through some of these comments reminds me how silly people can be.

It is awesome to see people arguing when they never even served.

  • The United States doesn't need Marine Corps. They want them.

  • they move so fuckn' slow when they're done. wouldn't be caught going that slow in air force boot camp

  • @cunderwater1988 fuck that..this is USMC..no offense to airforce (cause I pt with airforce on fridays wheen im not with my marines) but field training for airforce aint shit compared to this..trust me, their gonna be moving a lot quicker!

  • I can guarentee you this is at 0300-0500 hours at that time of the morning the whole damn Air Force is still tucked away in thier beddy bye's.

  • first day i got there got there at midnight and didnt get to go to bed till 0300. woke up at 0700 for processing. every day we got up at 0430

  • @cunderwater1988 HA! I got to Navy boot camp on Wednesday at 2300 and didn't sleep until Thursday at 2000!

  • well thats the navy for ya. ha ha

  • @cunderwater1988 bro my first 72 hours at Fort Benning we weren't allowed to sleep. I shit you not. Someone gets caught sleeping we'd get teh shit smoked out of us. And we woke up around 0330 the first 3 or 4 weeks. It sucked. I was in a high stress company.

  • @cunderwater1988 Wow lol when I went in 96, I didn't sleep till two or three days later. Just saying, but it was glorious sleep lol the next day we had the ist and all hell broke loose.

  • @dwodno Fuckin eh man, ooh rah.

  • @shwn91 FUKK yea OOH RAH

  • @dwodno lol nice (good to freaking go) and not only that but we were up for another 2 days after this with no sleep.

  • @dwodno I can guarantee this is at about 2100. They pick you up from the USO at like 8 if i remember correctly and this is the first thing you do after standing on the yellow footprints. AND not to mention, except for one week up north, recruits wake up at 05. It was a good attempt to bash the Air Force but youre making us Marines look stupid in the process. Fix yourself.

  • @bobshonda Perhaps you should have looked at when my original post was made...... 11 months ago. It was in response to an Airdale that attempted to flame my beloved Marine Corps. The only reason my post is still viewable instead of buried amongst the other 300 is that there were 10 others that thought my post was appropriate, sorry you didn't. As to fixing myself, anything that needed fixing was fixed 31 years ago at M.C.R.D. Parris Island.

  • @dwodno when u need support, who the fuck do you call??? Air Force wins war, when marines fail u call the Air Force

  • @colo250 Hey :D you and I were speaking on another video i beleave : P . Look, Marines poke fun at all of the branches. Its fun, and mostly true ^_^ thats why the other military boys started calling marines "Jarheads" lol

  • @Koldatt lol do you remember what vdeo was it??

  • @Koldatt koldatt lets see where is the next video we find ourselves arguing againg ...

  • @colo250 #1 who do we call? Marine Aviation because they are the experts at close air support in fact they are the ones who invented it in WW2. Question #2 If the Air Force wins wars why is it after months of bombing the Iraqis in the first gulf war did we still have to send in ground troops? Because we found out that air power alone doesn't win the day. Now go load your pilots up on some uppers to be exact the 332nd Air Expeditionary Group and farg some more friendlies. Canadians right?

  • @dwodno quit hating

  • @bubbakushbmg Hate is such a strong word. I only hate two groups of people. those responsible for the murder of my brother Marines in Beruit and those that are responsible for the murder of my relatives and brother Firefighters on 9-11. Fortunately the master minds of those attacks are now both dead.Imad Mughniyeh most likely at the hands of the Mossad and Osama Bin Ladin at the hand of Seal Team 6. unfortunately because they are what they are. I have no idea of where to send the Scotch.

  • @dwodno well, there are places you can send every villian to: Sahara Desert, Siberia, Antartica, the deep void of space, etc.

  • @dwodno Except for the ones flying bombing missions in Iraq and Afganistan, Dude.

  • I CANT FUCKING WAIT! im so fucking pumped right now

  • @lobsterman111 semper fi hard charger! its gonna be tense!

  • I remember the shakedown.

  • to EVERYONE arguing between army and marines... "there are two coffins with american flags drapped over them... one hold a marine...the other an army soldier... now tell me, which is more dead?" they all do their part. each branch needs the other. without eachother working as a team this country would be in ruin.

  • @TonyPerenchio Amen to your comment! And it's usually the wannabes who have never served who get into a pissing contest as to who is a bigger badass. We're all in this together. God Bless all our men and women in uniform.

  • @TonyPerenchio shut the fuck up im a marine and its friendly rivalry... its pride in our service.... for the most part we respect eachother but we still rag on eachother... if u were in any kind of service u wold know that

  • @TonyPerenchio you know from day one of ARMY i said the exact same thing, especially when things where competitive between platoons, companys etc " i was like this is stupid we are all fighting under the same flag!"

  • @TonyPerenchio amen brother

  • @TonyPerenchio That's right! Semper Fidelis.

  • @TonyPerenchio you must be Army then cause no marine would ever say such a thing.

  • @camaronornelas ummmm last time i checked i was a marine in 1st battalion 24th marines infantry unit in michigan :) oooorha devil dog. i graduated 2nd bn Echo company in boot camp. and yes you are all right about us having friendly competetion... shit even West and east coast has competition lol but i was merely refering to whats going on here... its a little more than "friendly". these kids are at each others throats lol

  • @TonyPerenchio well said

  • @TonyPerenchio Well said

  • @TonyPerenchio Marines never die, they go to Hell and regroup.

  • Haha, ah, recieving. This is Phase "What Have I Done?" Haha, 7 years, one month, and 22 days ago I was doing this same thing at MCRD San Diego.

  • can't believe that in 5 days from now 6 years ago, I was stepping off a bus at MCRD Parris Island onto the yellow footsteps. I did my four years and got out 2 years ago. My 4 years had its ups and downs. A 6 month tour to Iraq in 2005, and another 6 month tour on a ship to Europe and the Middle East.

  • what goes in the green bag and what goes in the white?

  • Lol brings back some of the best memories of my life

  • One word describes my intiial processing experience...."traumatizing".

  • Oh this brings back memories...

  • all I have to say to steelfan is if you in fact are not a Marine. You are dishonoring every Marine who earned the title. Dont bullshit me here, I hate posers

  • Comment removed

  • yea marines are a department of the navy...the mens department

  • shut up POG

  • @campvampwerewolf

I remember my recruiter always says that lol

  • @campvampwerewolf keep thinking that.

  • @campvampwerewolf The Marines have not been a Department of the Navy for Many years now; that is why a Marine Commandant was the Head of the Joint Chiefs. I was a Navy SARC for 36 years, stayed with the Marines for all that time. My one step son is now a SARC and my other step son came home in 2007 to rest in Texas as a Marine Corporal. When my Marines called for me, I never once hesitated to go, no matter what was happening. I think at least the Doc's are in the men's department.

  • @campvampwerewolf Funny, I never heard a Marine say that to me while I was keeping their ass alive while under fire in Iraq. Remember something Marine: In combat, when you get hit, there while be two things you will be crying for....Your mother, and your Navy Corpsman. Your mother won't be there to hear you.

    Chief

    "Doc"

  • oorah!

  • --steelfan77--I joined that site and they give u rank by ur activity on the site.

    ====bullshit.

i checked you out on several sites. one you are black and another you are white and a carpenter. anyone wish further info on steelfan77 contact me. you decide.

  • Marines are apart of the Navy, they answer to the Secratary of the Navy. They get stationed on Navy ships, and their termonalagy comes from the navy. However The Marines are much tougher then the navy

  • we are under the Dept of Navy, but we are our own branch, which means we are not under the Navy, but a branch of the Dept of Navy, there is a difference.... Marines deploy sometimes by ship, but are never stationed on ships...not all our terms are Navy...there are terms used that all branches use....

  • ---steelfan77--- i checked your stat in "usmchangout" and something doesn't make sense. you say enlisted 2007 but under mil info it says years served 1996-present grade PFC. so what gives.

  • That's when I joined that site and they give u rank by ur activity on the site....you can check that thru the site...I don't go on that site much cause it always has problems and can slow my computer up a lot...anyone that uses that site can confirm how they do things on there...for the persons real life info u have to click on their profile....I was active 96-01 I was IRR from 01-02 then been smcr since...

  • having spent 12 years in the Corps, let me enlighten you. The Marine Corps falls under the Department of the Navy, thus the first few bars of "Anchors Away" is always played before the Marines Hymn. Marines ARE stationed on ships as part of the ships detail, Marines attend Sea School prior to being assigned to a ship.

  • Your right .. The Marine Corps in a department of the Navy .. The Men's Department

  • @USMCJarhead09 lol!! OORAH

  • joncarbs, you're partially correct but a United States Marine does not get his terminology from the Navy, Marine's learns Navy terminology and or slang while in the Corps and before boarding a naval vessel or help you god.

  • hey Emotator

the green bag is known as your "Money Valuable" Bag, you keep all your obviously valuable material in there; money, social security card, recruiters card, a lil phone book, or any religious materials

and the white bag is a laundry bag filled with materials you need during recruit training

they also get a "War Bag" which is also green but bigger and has the woodland digital imprint

    hope that help

  • its not called a war bag its a diddy bag and the little bag isnt green its blue

  • ok well lets listen very carefully at 00:4, hes says "GREEN BAG" when i went through it almost 2 yrs ago it was....*GASPS* GREEN!

it doesnt matter what plt or company you were in boot(that if you even went) receiving is ALL the same

if im actually writing to a Marine, did you go to Paris Island? cuz shits WAYYYY different over there than San Diego

  • yes im a marine......graduated from parris island oct.16.....i wasnt trying to b a ass.....i kno shyt is different but i thought only the big shyt was different

  • soooo your tellin me you graduated 2 days ago? daaamn boot status!!

well congrats BUT COME ON MARINE!

you should know by now we fight for anything!

youll learn when you get to your MOS school that things are different from coast to coast

  • lol.during bootcamp all i heard was my drill instructors talkin shyt to each other about which coast is better funny times

  • damn thats really unprofessional for drill instructors to be like that infront of recruits

unless it was during Marine week

  • yeah it was....we would of been destroyed if we had even smiled if it wasnt marine week.......and reddog167 thnks

  • Congrats.

  • How exactly is it "way different" in SD? Please explain based on facts and not what you have heard. Thanks Marine.

  • ok well in the Marine Corps you meet alot of different ppl from different walks of life, different cultures, and of coarse different locations

for some god awful reason when a group of Marines get bored they talk about bootcamp

I went to MCRD San Diego, but know alotta Paris Island Marines and we jus exchange boot stories, talk about the DIFFERENCES in the Depots, and argue whos bootcamp was worse

hope that answers your question lavadog

  • thats how it is until you deploy

  • Depends if your east coast or west coast

  • Penis to you all. Homosexuality - Separate from the Marine Corps!

  • You couldn't last 5 minutes in recruit training.

  • Whats with the green bag white bag?

  • naw, you aint that stupid

  • The marines go through the longest training 13 weeks longer than any other branch so they have that, they are the best trained and next the majority of casualties are marines because they lead the fight first, the army is an occupation force they keep the ground marines take. they will always be on the front lines I have joined so thats how I know so please dont be disrepspectful

  • I wouldn't be so damn disrespectful if you marines had any respect for other services. Your basic might be a few weeks longer and more physical than other branches, but that's about it. Saying that the Army is an occupation force is ignorant. While it is partially true they do take part in the initial assault. Who do you think has the majority of the armor? The Army of course.

You should also remember that you're in the Navy and that the Marine core is only a part of the Navy.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • marines are well trained, army is well equipped. it also seem like you are the only one disrespecting other branches...I love hypocrites lol

  • Capitalize Marines

    It's Corps, not core

The Marines lead the invasion of Iraq with Marine Armor. The Army came in after.

The Marines had Somalia under control. Once the Army took over it got fucked up.

The title Marine is respected worldwide. Not so much for an average soldier.

  • Agree 100%....

  • First off, the Marines respect other branches. But they have the right to be called the best because they are the best. Force Reconnaissance thought up of all the unconventional ways of fighting from Deep Reconnaicance to Direct Contact before the Navy SEALs and Green Berets ever did.

Marines also came to Iraq first. Thats why they have more casualties.

  • Plus most of the Army personel there are likely stay to protect the places the Marines have taken over; Another reason why there are more Marine Corps casualties. And the Marines are not part of the Navy. Just the Department of the Navy which is run by civilians. They are in no way a part of the U.S. Navy. Its people like you that makes it really hard for them to not let a bullet pass to hit you in the face.

  • Marine Core eh? that just made your entire statement invalid, on account of it proves your ignorance. its Marine Corps, dumbass

  • Questions, where in the hell you get that the Marine CORPS(not core) is part of the Navy? give me facts not just some idiotic opinion based on what it says on the Marines tag , it reads :" Department of the Navy...United States Marine Corps"...it doesnt say "United States Marine Corps...Department of the Navy"....learn how to reas things properly so that they will make sence. Second, the Army IS an occupational force, read the Army's function. So there you go.

  • sidharta5809, the Marine Corps is a component of the Navy as it is equally for DOD. By using ad hominem to enforce your opinion, would only show your insecurities.

  • insecurity about what?

The Marine Corps is not a componet of the Navy...do some research, I could make it easy for you and post it here but I want you to do some homework.

  • sidharta5809, with my 29 years with the Corps I belive you're mistaken. It seems you failed to understand my answer. What is your pay grade in the Corps, Sid?

  • wait..you would like to know my pay grade in the Corps what for? Whats the highest degree of school you have? I have a masters in Criminal Justice administration, so I take what you really want to know is if I'm so little private who doesnt know better, well, sorry buddy, but I'm not one of those....I've seem many like to you in the Corps who because spend 15, 20 years think to know it all, sad. OH, lets do something, how many personal awards have you colected in your time in the Marines?

  • sidharta5809, failed to answer a simple question, because you have no answer. But interjected much of nothing. You state you've a Masters? . When in fact, it's Master in criminal justice, a postgraduate in preparation for a doctoral. "Resolved"

What gave it away, syntax, far from a Ph.D

  • No, I asked you question that you also "failed" to answer.....so, sorry buddy, no aswers for you either. Viva cuba comunista!

  • viva cuba comunista >>?what the fuck man ?why are u even here in the US then ?

  • Because I fucking can and was born here, thats why.
