@californiaspinnaker Bryan- you are such a gem. I'm 33 and my mentor implants almost killed me. they were faulty and had leaky valves and i had mold growing inside them. They also created an auto immune disease in my body. I went from a super healthy girl my entire life who owned her own business, worked 12 hr days no problem, to a dependant, depressed chronically ill girl who had to be pushed in a wheelchair at times. SCARY!! I can't believe what's covered up for greed. thanx 4 ur truth
Oh and I realize after watching the doc that the studies will never be done because surely the companies that make the implants realize that they will NOT pass the studies and would be yanked from the market. THAT is why they do short term, small and flawed studies (the studies that are out there are paid for by the manufacturers of the implants...conflict ya think?)....
Between today and yesterday I went and and got this documentary (from my library). I've now watched the entire movie (including many more interviews with this doctor) and it has only furthered my opinion that this man is a patronizing moron. He makes my skin crawl. The other doctor in the movie however is quite likeable and realizes the error of his ways in implanting so many women as he now is aware that the implants are unsafe.
This movie is a "must watch" for those considering implants.
How about a study that lasts more than 4 years, isn't paid for by the companies who manufacture implants, doesn't exclude the women who have them removed during the study, done by scientists and Drs who haven't been paid off?
Sadly, a study that fits that criteria will likely NEVER be done!

My name is Bryan and I was the silicone chemist for Mentor Corp. Santa Barbara,
all implants silicone/saline when heated to 98F in body begin to weaken and in time
rupture, silicone implant shells are made with Xylene and leak as they are warmed to 98F.
Silicone is made with Methyl Chloride that causes Lupus and Fibromyalgia !!
DO NOT GET IMPLANTS !!!
