I'm sooo happy to hear Tyson's pov. I'm sure someone could argue "well, that's what advisors are for", but too many advisors are lobbyists.
We do need more scientists in government to counter all these freak shows bastardizing religions for their own personal gains.

@Dan74NYC, I''d argue that the ONLY way we will have an effective government is if our government is run by science and scientists. This idea that we can substitute beliefs as facts in this country is just absurd! In the name of "freedom." Whatever the fuck that means. Scientific freedom gives us everything we have and could have given us so very much more by now. Many, many great inventors, engineers and scientists of many fields have come out with completely workable techs that are-
