  • Volunteer is the first step to career firefighting. Most firefighters were; and still are volunteers, saving most of our asses without pay, working full time outside jobs, and attending school. Doing just as well as thier paid team members. To save and protect our rears.

  • looks fun!

  • the geal is a great song! fits anything. never thought to put it to the fire service. good job

  • When the stickers on your helmet bubble thats when you know its hot.

  • sucks they took out the fire academy

  • @siwwyness Saving lives non the less is rewarding and will always always be something to be proud of, but from what I've experienced and just from talking to other firefighters, it's not always being the hero, you lose some you win some, what makes you a good firefighter is to be able to move on and put your whole heart into saving the next victim. The only heros we have in the fire service are the ones who answered the call gave their life and will never be forgotten.

  • @bassguitar079 Every firefighter whether your black white male female volunteer on call or paid firefighter is required by the state to recieve your Firefighter 1 your EMT Basic and your Hazmat Ops in order to be a firefighter. Your Firefighter 1 and Hazmat Ops are your academy. EMT basic is something extra you have to do.

  • I love reading the comments in any video, never fails there's always a fight or argument over some petty disagreement and someone wanting to get the last word in edge wise. great entertainment. Anyways great video, anyone who wants to do this as a career, I suggest volunteering if at all possible, some jobs are not for everyone and you don't know until you try.

  • what is the first song?

  • Im proud choosing my career as a firefighter, even though im only 15 :D

  • where can i download this video need it for home work

  • @ashleyodei ill download it for ya if you still need it

  • im a marine currently at MOS school for combat engineer. as soon as i get home im goin to my local main station and signing up. my mom thinks i have a death wish lol

  • @siwwyness I know your young but just make sure your gonna do it for the right reasons. Dont be a firefighter just to be a hero and look good. Make sure your doing it because you want to help people in their most desperate time.

  • @bassguitar079 Sometimes but not usually. Some times the volunteer department will sponsor them so they can become professional firefighters. Most volunteers who arent interested in full time paid jobs, usually do some training at the volunteer but just basic stuff.

  • @JakeAshley88 Lol really? I'm not trying to start an argument or anything but I am currently going through the process of getting on my local volunteer fire department. It has 5 paid guys on it and has over 50 volunteers, we get 110+ hours a month of training at our fire station. We fight the same fire bud no matter if your volunteer or paid. Currently as far as I'm concerned training wise the fire department Im hopefully soon to join is one of the best departments in the state.

  • @DFF711 It just depends on where you're at. Some departments do alot of training, some do not do hardly any.

  • @JakeAshley88 Yeah I know that I just dislike it when people hear "Volunteer" they automatically think that they arent up to par with a paid department. A volunteer department can be just as good if not better than a paid department, or they can be the worse department in the whole free country. The want to learn and progress as a firefighter starts at the top (Chief) and trickles down.

  • I look forward to the thrill of saving lives, its so rewarding and satisfying!

  • Fire Acedemy is all the fun I hoped for, and the pain, heat, and exhaustion I never imagened; 7 hours running drills in 94 degrees and 85% humidity made me realize I has built to thive in this punishment. My only advice look for an acedemy that make firefighters not just qualifed fire personnel.

  • @bassguitar079 yes,

  • DOD Fire Academy..Crash and Fire Rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wanna say whats up to all my firefighter brothers out there, i fight structural and airplane fires.....they saying goes "when everybodys running out the building were running in"

  • they are basically angels going through hell's fire and coming back

  • @pezilla123 Many times a call, too, I'd bet.

  • I have to say that Structure FFs have balls, big ones. As a Wildland FF I wouldn't run into a burning building where hazardous materials are burning giving off fumes, and the fire could consume the entire structure with you inside, to save someones friggin' cat. I would have to say that the physical aspects of wildland are way more strenuous and you need to be prepared mentally as well. Wildland FF - 70% physical 30% mental(and we see way MORE FIRE) Structure FF - 35% physical 65% mental

  • @Eireate I'm not too too familliar with wildland firefighting, but it's unfair to give that kind of assessment. I'm pretty sure that our brothers in the World trade center were 90% physical carrying high rise packs and in full gear up those flight of stairs. Regardless to say the number one killers of firefighters are stress heart attack and overexhaustion. That fact does not pertain to any one aspect of the fire services. Stay safe and thank you for your service.

  • oh, are these canadian firefighters? which fire school is this?

  • I'm going to the Marines then Army Ranger then Firefighter can't wait.

  • @mckinley1175 well good luck they gonna give you a 2 year contract at the marine corps then you have to be in the army for a year to then got to ranger school and serve a 2 year contract. just telling you if you didnt know.

  • @theboy933 Ok cool so thats how I have to do it?

  • @mckinley1175 well you can do it in a diferent order but they might have changed it since i was last a 'rookie' now im a recon marine.

  • @mckinley1175 no thats how i recomend you to do it. :) by the way i know on my channel it says im 18 its because its my brothers channel and i dont have one so dont think im an 18 year old recon marine ok? :D

  • @theboy933 Ok cool I don't know exactly my plan on the lat move and ok I got ya.

  • @greenberetdevildog... Im in the Military as a firefighter.. You fucktard

  • I went to training Division class 22. It's a good class for a volunteer, but the truth of the matter is 2 weeks in the boot camp just isn't long enough. After there I went to an 18 week full time academy when I got hired with a city Dept. It was a night and day difference. TD has great instructors, Just too short of an academy.

  • @engine1fireboy The academy im going to is through a volunteer fire department. It's in house state recognized and it starts in january and lasts till may. I dont think that there is any set standard of what classes are for volunteer or full time we fight the same fire my friend. Stay safe and thanks for your service.

  • what is the name of the first song??

  • BEST job in the WORLD. :)

  • Mate, I was playing the stereotype card, because you are a limey, and that is what limeys do for Americans; all based on TV. I have been to the UK & everyone thought they knew me. In the US being 21 or 22 on a fulltime fire department is pretty rare. I am thinking of joining the grand traverse metro fire department (paid on call) when I move to Traverse City in autumn for marine engineering school if they will take me(I will be in TC 3 years & gone summers so they may not want to spend the £).

  • Firefighter one class of 2010 MFD Mohawk NY. Great vid "Two thumbs up"

  • The guy in front of the class at 2:48 is so Bad ass, hes a real fire fighter .

  • great glass management!

  • lol at all the military people getting pissed off because they want to compare this to their training. Military trains to kill, these people train to save your families at home when their shit catches on fire. Seriously these people have to come save your wife and kids when your wife cant cook for shit and burns the house down. Don't tell her to call 911, instead tell her your military training will save them.

  • Comment removed

  • @kensan62 dont call us when you need us then

  • @ohyeee22 +1 brother

  • @kensan62 your a retard, firefighters are the unsung heroes we would be fucked without them everyday. who the fuck do u think would be able to cut you out of ur car if u got hit by a big rig apart from the fd. who do you think would go in to a burning house to find your wife and kids?

  • @thedeeptone1986 "firefighters are the unsung heroes" FFs are a lot of things but unsung is not one of them.

  • what's the song...well cadence?

  • Nice job with the video. I also like the choice of music.

  • @greenberetdevildog ,

if its a joke to you, don't dial 911 when your house catches on fire.

  • Great video!

    God bless you brothers...

"May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face.

And rains fall soft upon your fields.

    And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the hollow of His hand."

  • You also forgot the "U" in Honour. Good vid.

  • You also forgot the "U" in Honour.

  • Going to school for Fire Science, and doing my Medic school. Heavy load on my shoulders but i'm proud i came where i'm at. I have a lot to learn and i'm happy i do..

  • ur bootcamp looks like a joke have fun fighting fires

  • @greenberetdevildog

Why does it look like a joke to you kid?

  • @Fantosonium

WHY WELL 1ST IM NOT A KID 2ND IVE ENDURED WAY MORE THAN THAT G@Y SHIT I JUST WATCHED EVEN ARMY F@GS GET BETTER PT THAN THAT BUT ANYWAYS I APOLOGIZE IF U WANT UR COCK SUCKED ARMY GUYS ARE THE ONES TO ASK. OORAH

  • @greenberetdevildog

Yeah yeah yeah, calm down man. I'm tired of guys coming on here saying military training is harder than firefighting training. Of course it is, what did you expect? Military are trained for completely different reasons than we are. It's not a competition man, we are trained to protect and rescue, and that's that. Your training is harder? Awesome. Stop comparing two totally different jobs.

  • @Fantosonium SORRY BRO MY COUSINS A SEAL WE COMPARE JOBS ALL DAY.TALKIN SHIT IS WAT I DO BEST

  • @greenberetdevildog your a fake your recon your dads a green beret your bros a seal what a lie.

  • @Fantosonium seriously. their is no reason to compare us to them. our training and their training are two totally different things. its ridiculous

  • @greenberetdevildog

You do realize, Green Berets are a division of the Army. Devil Dogs are Marines. You know what that makes you? A dumb f@ggot

  • @clarkshawn46 no shit butt fucker quit responding to old ass messages dam was i evern talking to u holy shit go bother the firefightas dam

  • @greenberetdevildog YOU CHAT SHIT YOU AINT NO GREEN BERET N YOU INBRED FAMILY ARENT NAVY SEALS. AND EVEN IF YOU WERE I WOULD STILL PUT A FIRE FIGHTER HIGHER UP THAN ARMY OR NAVY, WHY? BECAUSE THEY DONT CHAT SHIT ABOUT HOW TOUGH THEY ARE BECAUSE THEY DIDNT JOIN TO ACT TOUGH THEY DO IT BECAUSE THEY ARE MEN NOT BOYS WITH TOYS. THE FIRE SERVICE OVER HERE IS HARDER TO GET IN TO THAN THE MARINES, WHY? BECAUSE YOU NEED A BRAIN TO GET IN THE THE FD ANY RETARD CAN PICK UP A GUN.

  • @thedeeptone1986 dam dude that message i posted was like acient if i wanted to be a beret i wud have joined the army. i luv how retards respond to pointless messages i leav getting all amped up over nothing lol.truth be told noone cares its just a job

  • @greenberetdevildog its not just a job bud, this is our lives in hand, this is our family and this is who we are not what we do. If you were in the armed forces you would know that.

  • @ags813 oh ok...thx for the info..dragonballz is the best

  • @greenberetdevildog totally agree with you. lol

  • @thedeeptone1986 First take off the caps chavy-one. Second it is easier to get in the military because the military is much larger than paid fulltime FF (who work cushy hours). “BECAUSE YOU NEED A BRAIN TO GET IN THE FD ANY RETARD CAN PICK UP A GUN” by your logic anyone can also hold a hose. And although fulltime paid FF is very hard job to get in the US, the military is being very restrictive, oh you can be a FF in the military too.

  • @badgerattoadhall fuck off u emo mess go slit ur rists

  • @thedeeptone1986 See son I knew, I just fucking knew that you were a chav, and you calling me an emo cemented my opinion of you “m8”. I am not an emo and I am 31 years old son. I guess you would have trouble getting into the fire service considering you did not finish secondary school. or maybe you are the first chav in your counsel housing to not drop out. So turnout gear by burberry?

  • @badgerattoadhall ahahaha you fool I was taking the piss out of you for asuming im some chav, lol your the stereotype mate... jumped up prick who asumes all but knows fuck all.

Im 24 not that age matters, I was im the fire service seen as you have brought up jobs, I left 2 years ago after my mate broke his back when he fell 30 feet through a floor at a warehouse fire in lancashire. I now drive trucks all over the UK and Europe and bank 1800 a fortnight so there goes your council house idea.

  • @badgerattoadhall Not just full time firefighting is hard...any firefighting, fire is fire no matter who arrives on scene.

  • @DFF711 I don’t r remember what I wrote, but if I said that full time firefighting is hard to get into I meant getting employment not the work itself.

  • @badgerattoadhall Ah I see lol sorry about that.

  • nice video![x

  • @greyhawk000 me too!!!

  • im going into some firefighter camp somewhere as soon as i get done with high school. Wait for me! *runs after fire truck*

  • what is the name of the song? it sounds irish!

  • We were class 68 at Training Division...this is an awesome video

  • Thank you for setting this to good music, and not Creed/Nickelback/etc.

    Good video.

  • i love the part were the guy smashes the window with the halogen bar to bad its way wrong because the proper way to do it is by rolling it the window down if you can so that it is only 2in up then with the for end place the glass in the middle and twist it smashes the glass right int the door with no mess and non on the victim swinging a halogen bar you could hit the victim and cause wore of a problem and if you cant open any of the doors use a window punch tool it spiders the window

  • i love this the music go with it to. im so becoming a firefighter, i dont care how hard the trainging is. =)

  • getting a job is hard if you are picky about where you work but if you are open its not that hard

  • 2:51 look at that belly...hehe.

  • getting into and through the academy is the "easy"part, getting the job is where the going gets tough, anywheres from 20 ppl to 3000 applying for 3 jobs all with mostly hte same certifications...gotta work hard to get ahead ,in some places ur chances of making it in pro sports would eb better then finding a firefighting job ..just some food for thought

  • And how do you know this?, in my homestate you can get a pos anywhere

  • i know this because im currently going through it..i got into the academy and passed 3rd in my class right outta highschool,, was it challenging yes..but i woudlnt call it "hard"..but like i previously stated..u have anywheres form 20 to 3000 ppl applying for 1 to 10 jobs ..with the same certifications..im in canada so im speaking from a candian point of view but im sure things cant be that different in the states

  • Very true my friend, I believe it is way harder in Canada because Canadian Firefighters get paid so well compared to some very low salaries in some states.

    Keep at it, good luck.

  • @jmaxwell30

FDNY will always be the best fire department. The fire department was started in the United States of America by Ben Franklin who created the first fire company.

  • its all who u know

  • @josephkennith yeah that's what my neighbor said. He's only 25 and said after you pass the tests it's really about who you know. I'm taking the written thursday. Any one ever taken the video based written test? It's the first year they are doing it here where I'm at.

  • vollies all the way

  • @jmaxwell30 i doubt becuz in sports u can be amazing and still have an 1 perecent chance

  • what is the title of the sound track the one with the bag pipes?

  • Its dougie maclean- the gael. Its the theme song on one of the greatest movies of all time, Last of the Mohicans.

  • Oh yeah its a violin not the bag pipes though.

  • HAS AROUND 10 SPOTS WITH OVER 2,000 APPLICANTS.

Also, cities only test once every two or three years. JUST FOR AN EXAMPLE: A lot of you who think you're going to go to this and get on Chicago or something. Chicago FD just had an exam in 2006. Prior to this they had an exam in 1995. Shows how much they hire! Oh... but don't worry... go to the "bootcamp," and ull get right on! Idiots.

  • Alright It's time to clear some things up kiddies.

First of all firefighter boot camp DOES NOT LET YOU BECOME A CAREER FIREFIGHTER FOR A CITY. This is to get a handful of certifications, NOTHING ELSE. I'm tired of reading posts on here "yea i cant wait to got to bootcamp then get on the fdny"

ARE U SERIOUS!? Each city holds their own WRITTEN EXAM, PHYSICAL EXAM, MEDICAL, BACKGROUND, and psychological exam. You must pass all of these to be considered for THAT CITYS ACADEMY. wHICH USUALLY HA

  • do u stay there over night or go home

  • i got a question...after i take my firefighter exam and do the fire fighter bootcamp

do i have to live there for the weeks of training? or is it a few days and i go back home and then go back?

  • are you going to a state traning place

  • I can't wait!!! I want to be a firefighter sooo bad!!!!!

  • You going into the US Army to do that?

  • No, I'm applying to take my Civil Service exam to make it to the Academy!!!

  • what drumline is playing the song? Scouts? B.D.?...lol..nice vid man.

  • Hello, I went to this training just a few weeks ago and I had so much fun, I was class 65. I have made a video for youtube but, the songs I have on my video have a copyright on it, how do I get the to play the songs. Thanks

  • just look it up on youtube how to avoid copyright infringment and theres videos ive done it before

  • go canada

  • man, I can't wait to go to the academy. I Finish medic school in a month...Take a breather, then get my ass kicked at fire school.

  • Paramedic or Basic?

  • @mkopowski Did you go to medic school at Training Division.

  • @mkopowski im 18 and im thinking about becoming a firefighter. but idk how to start. im about to graduate from high school and idk if going to like a specialty school would be better or going to college and taking fire and science classes. can you help me? or anyone else?

  • @xXKick1RockzXx hey i don' know what town you live in but it would look good on an application if you joined a volenteer fire dempt. and i dont know of any schools

    hope this helps

  • @xXKick1RockzXx You can always go to the nearest fire department. I live in New York and here they only do the test every 4 years or something like that. IDk if this apply to all states but you have to be 21. My advice is go to college and get a degree, it makes you start with a higher rank. Best Luck!

  • @xXKick1RockzXx Here are some things you do. 1) Join a volunteer department. Just call up a local department tell them your interested and ask if they are a full time or volunteer. It doesnt matter if its a full time or volunteer go in if its ok with them and get an application meet the guys show your enthusiasim. Ask them what you need to do and they will more then likely be willing to direct you in the right path. Good luck

  • @mkopowski good choice.. i took fire first then emt... 100% buzz kill

  • @backdraftmagnet what do you mean it was a 100% buzz kill? You didn't like your EMT?

  • @DFF711 emt school consists of alot of reading and procedure... fire school consist of more hands on material... after fire school i was ready to fight my first dragon.lol.. i wasent looking forward to the change of pace... emt tranning is just as important, but you go from "balls to the wall" to "ABCs" (or now "CBA")... which is a 100% buzz kill

  • @mkopowski Best time ever

  • @mkopowski Hey bro Did you end up beeing a firefighter?????

  • at 5:07 that is a Canadian flag.

  • and at 2:07 its an Amrican flag and at 2:15 its a Texas Flag. It takes place over at Crowley, TX. Gig 'Em Ags!

  • Im on the local VFD, and Im looking into doing EMT-B class or going out for the Paid fire department where in the city I will be going to college in. Is being a firefighter or EMT a good job while in college, or are the hours too bad?

  • yea. its a patch on his arm, you think that just maybe the guy is canadian?

  • You think that maybe thats what I was hinting at smart a**?

  • thats sick, im thinkin of applying:P

  • you should

  • I believe it was in Desoto, TX

  • I'm pretty sure I saw a Canadian flag sewn on to one of the uniforms...

  • Comment removed

  • Hey it is Training Division in Crowley, TX. I was reading the comments on part 2 of this video and thats what the guy that posted these videos said. It is one of the largest online fire/ems/paramedic programs. I actuall am finishing up with my emt there right now.

  • Where was this boot camp?

  • what is the name of this song??

  • Very well done video. Definitely good musical scores as well.

  • its enya its off the movie last of the mohecans

  • great. I'm impressed.

  • heroes isn't spelled "hero's"

  • Good Call so Much for Spell Check

  • i strat bootcamp in 2 months can't. gotta keep up the family tradition.

  • how do you sign up?Cause I am going to attend a bootcamp.

  • it all depends on the department i'm a vol rite now but i have all my full time classes all i have to do is do the bootcamp and i'll be full time. but the boot camp is through the department. good luck

  • its not a bootcamp just to get in shape its a fire academy to pursue in the career and its one hell of it im startin soon but in order to sign up go to you local academy it will usually be near a college or just google it andall you have to do is put your name down on the list and wait to get called

  • wow this video is great i love it the music is awesome, seriously this is fucking awesome thanks so much for making it, its incredible keep it up brother.

  • this is truly amazing i really want to go into boot camp for fire fighting.

  • neither boot camp is that bad if your mind is right been in navy, Marines and part of this class.

  • does anyone know the name of this song/ music cause i really like it. Also you shouldn't worry about how hard it will be in boot camp. If you really want to be a fire fighter and you know you were born to be one you gotta do wat you gotta do.

  • i cant wait to become a firefighter once i leave the corps

  • is firefighter bootcamp as hard as military bootcamp?cause dat shit was fuckin hell on earth.

  • This is an amazing video!

  • ...

  • That is some excellent camera and post editing! What software did you use? What kind of camera?

  • The Camera is the XL2.... and used Final Cut Pro to edit :-) Glad you liked it!

  • @jmunfy Was this training division in Texas? I'm heading out to their Paramedic class this month.

  • WOW That was something else.

  • EXCELLENT video, very well done and the music selection is just great
