  • what is the temperatue of the water?

  • How old are the babies in this picture?

  • I bet you really stressed those fish out when you started rubbing it like it was a cat or dog or something, lmao. so funny but cool too.

  • when you breed them are they like angel fish?

  • u are ging to be rish men 1 one those cost like 100 dollar :P

  • Those fish a way nice :)

  • they look great

  • should the parents still be in the same tank? They could clean a spot and allow infection in

  • my dad know has more the 200 descuse babys and 16 adult descuss he already sold some of the babys...its really hard he spent almost a whole year tring to perfect the tank and he finally did it

  • really nice fish.

  • really nice fish.

  • Tonyxq2006, hat off to you my friend. I am a very exper. Fish hobbiest and have bred and cared for some of the hardest fish there are in freshwater. I have yet to tackle discus(mostly havent had the time since Ive been on deployment) But to be able to "pet" a breeding pair watching over thier fry is a true feat. Especially a fish as easy to stress out as a Discus. I enjoyed your video very much.

  • Hey, i got a pair of turquoise discuss 4 $50 since i baught a whole tank system 4 my basment and i jus wanted 2 know howhard it is 2 breed and take care of these fish

  • woooow what are these wild tefe discus or what????

thy look like wild to me ;)

  • how many times do you change the water. what do you feed your discuss.where do you get their food

  • all you people should shut up..the guy obviously knows what he's doing! It's amazing you can put your hand in the tank! I bet you have water quality down to a science. I could never get them to breed at all!

  • i advised you to jump from rawche rock

  • A qué pinche loco se le ocurre meter la manota en el acuario... ¿Acaso no sabe las consecuencias pque puede traer?

  • No sabes nada de peces...

  • hi ,how big is the tank and can u tell all the steps to keep a discuss fish i have one but it stays in a corner and i have no other fish..help me plz thanks>>>>>>>>

  • Discus need to be kept in groups of 6. 10 gallons per fish. This is a particular fish - you should have researched before buying!

  • tonyxq2006 - how big is your tank? And how long did you have those discus? I want to set-up a clear tank just like yours but feared that they will get "depressed" by the blank environment.

  • the breeding tank is a 2 feet tank. the living room tank is 3 feet tank. They won't get used to the bare tank at begining, try not using too much lighting at beginning and not feeding much. as long as they are healthy, in good water condition and feel hungry, they will become active soon. take it slowly.

  • i cant get them not to eat the egg back... what did i do wrong??

  • I encountered this many time also. it could be few reasons: the pair are not happy(sometime can see they are fighting; too many distraction around the tank(can try to reduce the tranfic around the tank or use paper to cover the tank partially; water problem...

  • how to know F and M when i like to buy 2 of this?

  • Really hard to tell. only time to know 100% is when they are spamming.

  • Some times you can tell a M&F by seeing two that consitley swim with eachother. other than that you need to wait until spawning.

  • hey how do you know if they are m or f????

  • Discus' provide nutrious mucus on their flanks, It is a way of feed their fry.

  • why are they eaten up on her?

  • abi balık dediğin budur ya. izlerken bile heyecanlanıyorum.

  • impossible

  • so cool. i have two and i'm waiting for...

  • love it

  • Hey all, Best recommanded not touching the fish too much, think my video lead ppl to touch there fish like touching a dog or cat, that's something we shouldn't do. It will harm the fish! cos it will remove some of the protection skim on the fish body.

  • do u wash ur hands with soap or just with water before touching the fish? comment me on my profile or whatever its called

  • NO! No soap!!! For the love of gaaaaawd NO SOAP!! ;) Seriously though, no soap ... absolutely none. There can be no soap. Just rinse your hands in warm water before you stick them in the water. Another great tip with discus is to taste their water. If you can't drink it, change it ... immediately.

  • Hey there, if your hand not dirty, just clean your hand with fresh water will do. Best recommand not touching the fish too much, think my video lead ppl to touch there fish like touching a dog or cat, that's something we shouldn't do. It will harm the fish, cos it will remove some of the protection skim on the fish body.

  • That was amazing. What a parent! I notice you have a suckermouthed cleaner-fish in you tank, I was told this is a definite no-no? What species is it, will any of the same type, but darker in color, suffice and be accepted?

  • Yes. I had that yellow sucker in the baby tank only. I have bought other sucker fish also, but they all like to suck on the flat and board discus body.(espically during the night!) Finally, I give up keeping sucker fish in discus tank. Guess what? I put 3 gold fish in my 350 ltr tank now, they help me to keepthe tank bottom very clean, and also create some nice movement in the tank. see my new tank setup video

  • Looks interesting, how is it working out? With the goldfish I mean :) Anyways, just wanted to say that I've had two fairly large suckerfish in my display tank for a week now and it seems to be working out fine and I've got a wonderfully clean tank :)

  • very nice discus...very good parents too...how long u keep the fry with the parents?

  • I cannot remember exactly how long. should be around 8 weeks. the fry reach the thumbnail size already and still gang up on the parent (the female parent has some skin broken) ... So I decided to separate them.

  • i see thanks for the reply...

  • thanks for the reply if u have the intention to sell some of ur fry pls let me know. cheers

  • oh my i LOVE your discus fish! I just got a pair, who knows if they breed but I'm head over heels for them. They look like yours. How did you get them so friendly?

    ~Tina

  • hi Tina, my hand is in the tank holding the blood worms during the feeding time. At beginning, they are shy and scared, but with your patient, they will come to you, after sometime, they will get used to your hands and even bit your fingers for food.

Above all thing, you must keep you hands washed clean and don't touch the fish body too much. as to keep them healthy and free of skin diseases.

  • Thanks so much!

    ~Tina

  • hi tonyxq can i know where you get those beautiful discus? Im from Singapore too

  • The breeding pair is from the old aquarium shop near Eunos MRT. Normally, I visit different fish shops / fish farms to see if they have good and stable stock. Do walk around, there are so much aquarium shop in Singapore. Place I like to go: QiHu, seletar farmway 2, upper Changi road has one old discus shop(but very eX), pasir ris farm way, Eunos MRT - the old aquarium shop...

  • OrZ !! Your discus fish look like happiness .

  • mmmm... fish'n chipz

  • After seeing your discus, I will have another

of my tank with this breed.

  • wow i'm interested in breeding discus too.Oh ya ur discus fry develop into so many colours???

  • hohoho... the last few seconds at the end of the video is my discus community tank housed for few different breed. the fry tank is just below this community tank.

  • hahaha fishes are stupid lol

  • lol so cute they are ganging up on the poor fish

  • if i do that to my discus,,my baby discus is gone by tmrw

  • i wish i had a dicus

  • OMG!!..their so cool looking n quite big too..lol

  • hook me up with a baby =p

  • wow! i can´t belive they let u touch them, i wish i could do that with my discus they are prety shy...

  • hoho, I feed them handly, they are used to my hand in the tank already(you can see another video that I am feeding by hand in the tank). Anyway, I only touch them a little bit, sometime they even bite my finger for food. hahaha... (if you do this also, remember to clean your hand and arm first, keep the tank clean and the fish healthy)

  • have you succesfully breeded this fish? we've managed to breed Angel Fish, guppy, Betta, gold fish, but not this one, so any pointers on where to start will be appreciated, btw your tank has the style i'm planning for my 200 L new tank, thanx for sharing this video.

  • Hi friend,

when your discus matured, they will form a pair from the group, and start shaking their body and using their mouth to cleam up a place for laying eggs. they become aggressive and domainate the tank. I added some details in the video description. You can find more there. good luck.
