I see that the poster did'nt ever respond to Ultraseconds question about his reaction if this was an Andy Kaufman prank. I'd like to know too as I appreciate his having uploaded these vids(Although I'm pretty sure that the majority of the reactions have NOT been what he counted on.)but I think that a large part of his indignation at Rocco's antics comes from the assumption that they're real. First off, I apologize for my use of profanity. You're right, that's not professional.

However, Rocoo DID hijack school board meetings, meetings where important decisions were being made like purchasing text books, negotiations with the Teachers Union, Construction projects etc. Rocco never dealt with these issues. He even refused to vote on them. He was abusive, out of control, even threatened the other board members.

Good Riddance to him. And no, he wasn't Andy Kaufman.

I may have another hypothesis why Rocco won. With all this current hatred of Hispanics/latinos especially in Orange County, the voters saw "Martinez" and out of spite voted for the other candidate. This may be part of the results.

Because the way he acts and the way everything is set up smacks of an Andy Kaufman-style stunt. Steve also runs a website called 'Andy Kaufman lives' and during his speeches exhibits mannerisms that seem strikingly similar to the deceased comedian/prankster. It may be a bit of a stretch to assume that Steve IS Andy without conclusive proof, but right now it looks very much like a prank. And one that is (thankfully) drawing public attention to the school board.

I disagree. I go to most school board meetings, and the other six members, while not perfect, are reasonable people who are trying to do a good job. Rocco, however, is the problem.

First thing your community should do is to remove the candidates' occupations from the ballot. It's one thing for voters to be uninformed, but as you can plainly see, it's quite another for them to be completely misled by the ballot itself.
