any tips on how to make the chopper go forward faster ? mine has the tendency to refuse to go forward at time at all. and even with the increased linkage, it still stops going froward after a short distance
Sounds like you will like the dual swash modification. Please take a look at my other videos, especially this one: "Super outdoor Lama V4 runs for goal"
you can find more info on this topic in RCgroup's coaxle heli forum.
@dendog220 Sounds good, but I Don't know the parts to buy, I would be grateful if you could give a list and possibly even instructions on how to build it. I did view the ropic in RCgroup but can't really find instructions cause most dual swash mods are self made
Oh ya, that Toilet Bowl Effect -TBE you're getting when hovering can be fixed by adjusting your linkage at the flybar and also balancing your blades. Also the obvious, making sure your inner shaft is straight and the flybar.....
Nice Heli!!!! I have the Blade CX2 and jus did some mods to it. You could probably do the same. I shortened the Flybar but doing this loses a bit of stability though. I took the Swashplate and cut the arms so that they are half the lenghth. My heli's a Rocket now. I just Crazy Glued. Almost as fast as my Blade CP Pro...... Gotta get that Tail Boom you got. It's very nice.
awesome flying dude! ur upgrades r mainly from esky? i live in singapore, e upgrades i've got locally is usually from esky and xtreme. couldn't find any from boomstown! argh!!!
I like to stick with the original parts from Esky or Eflite ;) they are not fancy but fairly cheap and light. Almost all my dual swash plate parks are from Eflite stock parts...
Xtreme parts are nice but too heavy; not good for our little heli..
Do you like the thin looking boomtown style tail boom?? I find the little tail fin pretty neat! :D
I need help... After me falls and substitution of a few main blade now I do not manage to stabilize my Lama v4 on air, he is always moving doing a circle. Help me please to discover the problem...
I did post pix of my setup in the RCgroups electric flight forum. If u go there, try to find the "multi rotor" section in the electric heli board, and u'll see lots of info regard BL motor setup.. take care!
Why the brushless motors? From what I've read they are more efficient at 0 to light load but, having never flown, what is the difference. Is it mainly for the way they are more linear?
What blades are you using? In another vid you said you didn't like the extreme blades and got reinforced yet they look like the extremes,i.e white. Most of the first upgrades I think I would do would be for reliability.
I want to get a RC Helli and have been trying to decide between the Blade CX2 Lama V4. My LHS caries the Blade and parts but for the price and the more I research the Lama keeps looking better.
Now seeing this video has totally sold be on the Lama. It is nice to know that I can get a starter, call it my baby and build it up as my skills get better. I have seen the dualswash on other vids but seeing it done in metal looks awesome and sollid.
Brushless is good in the sense that they are more efficient, i.e, runs cooler, quieter, and gives you about 1.5 times the fly time than the stock brushed motors. On 2 cell lipos, they don't produce that much more power than stock, but they weight only 1/3 of the stock motors. Furthermore, they provide awesome power on 3 cell lipos for outdoor flying.
As for Lama vs CX2, the CX2 enjoys slightly better built quality, and their parts are easier to get in the U.S. But I like lama better, not only because their blade mounts allow you to switch any kind of blade easily, but also their servo arrangements seems to better allow you to mount the pushrod further apart for more aggressive handling.
The white blades you seem on my chopper are the "harden blades". They are slightly heavier than stock, yet tones tougher. I can have blade strikes during mid-flight, and yet the chopper would recover itself on the drop and hover again; the blades just wouldn't break! IMO these harden blades are better than those heavy Extremes.
For the metal dual swash mods... well, unlike those guys, I have no tools to manipulate those metal components, so I choose plastic parts... but don't underestimate those plastic parts; they are durable and more importantly, lighter weight.

hi there..
thx for the tips... adjusting the linkage length is always a pain for me... :P

Very nice, what's modification, for exemple, what's the motor tipe, bye cya lo~~

Hello..
The motor in this video is C10 brushless CDrom motors. I used DualSky 6A ESCs with them. I also have Vtail mixer and a Efly 704A gyro in this setup.

give me a website where you got it the motor

haha yeah dude! honestly i feel ur style of upgrade rockz! lol boomstown tail boom is 2 x's better den xtreme one!
yeah agree that xtreme parts r fairly heavt but they work better outdoors. due to the weight, able to restand e wind slight better den stock parts.

Hi man
I see you do use a Spektrum 2.4Ghz trasmitter...
Can you use an Esky 2.4 Receiver to work with that transmitter ? Or you have to buy an AR6200 for each helicopter you use ?
I guess you have only one trasmitter you use for all models..
coderzone77 3 years ago
Hi there..
If your Esky uses a 2.4G receiver, I guess you can bind it to your Spektrum TX using the usual biding procedure with your bind plug.
Yeah I can fly both of my brushless Lamas and my blade 400 with this single TX, pretty handy!
dendog220 3 years ago
Hi dendog,
Very interesting! Coz I want to do the same for my 2.4G extreme kit lama.
Is it just so simple to bind the Esky 2.4G receiver to this DX6i?
Could you share for me some pics how you do that?
The shop where I want to buy these tx said that the tx is not compatible to the Esky receiver, even if I want to use AR6200 receiver as well.
Thanks in advance, dude!
