thanks Steve- this one was a *bleeping* nightmare to edit - whenever I get into a project like this I kick myself halfway through the madness of it and say 'why can't you just vlog like a normal person?!!' L L
Hey...how did I miss this? I could say that you are more talented than I ever thought ...and all that stuff...but I ain't gonna :) I've already told ya a thousand times by now.
YT ate my comment! I watched this right after you posted it!
I LOVE your videos!! They tend to send me into this deep thought space. Yes, I agree...it's not what you're looking at that matters, it's what you see! Perspective is an interesting subject. Taking that step back from things and starting from a different view point is something that I try to do often. Keeping my mind open to others ideas and ways of thinking helps to not just see things that support my thinking...(continued)
You ARE the Mistress of All Things! Brava!! Your creative mind always leaves me in awe and bit envious...:-) When I grow up, I want to be more like you!! :-) Maybe my next lifetime?? I don't think I'm going to grow up in this one...lol xoxoxoxoxo
Lesley, you've done something remarkable here. I share your love of the "merely" technical. I'm not embarrassed to say you have inspired me with this video. I've learned from watching it.
Of course, I'll always be the #1 fan of your dear puppy video - which will always be my favorite.
Inventive and spherically pleasing! Agreed that if you stop to just see it, and not identify it, it always looks better! Superb editing Lesley! That city drawing with the keying was awesome!
Thanks Anthony! - thank goodness we have an abundance of cameras - it's TIME I seem to run short of. I have to get over to your neck of the internet and catch up on you and Nika's wedding stuff- I was in the states during that and when I got back our broadband was ZERO band so watching has been painful - we just got a new router so all I need now is a rainy day (which, oddly enough - there hasn't been one for weeks! is this England?? LOL)
It will be a scorcher all week, when it is hot in England is seems hotter than most other places! All that stuff is over on ThePadburys channel in a playlist ... if you kind find it on the beta page LOL!:)
As usual, all your hours of slaving over a hot laptop have not been a waste of time... I'm always refreshed when you put up a new video, and the wait is always worth it... I'm glad that I rushed on over to see this one :)
I'm speechless!... (well almost) That was amazing and I have absolutely no ides how you put that together but it wouldn't have looked out of place on TV! And it's got me thinking as well, which I'm sure was the idea.
I'm glad you put the 'almost' in there- I would worry about you. LOL
I was in key framing hell for a while with this one - plus my computer is so old a decrepit that what I'm seeing on the screen in editing mode is usually much different than the rendered version - sometimes. I, too. am speechless- for the wrong reasons!
thank you Billy - I wish I had more time to do other types of videos while I am doing these artsy-fartsy things but once I get into a project (just ask Brian) I turn into a zombie! LOL
I've always thought that both you and Asimov come up with most excellent quotes:) Actually one of the last books I read was "Nightfall" by him back in the days when it seemed like I had time to read books (which would be pre-computer days). Great book overall but the ending didn't turn out the way I wanted from my perspective. (To me it seemed the irrational among us took over the world. I guess it was just too realistic to suit me:)
And uhhhm excellent vid too:))) Well done Lesley!!!
Funny I was looking at some books today at the outdoor market and put them back knowing full well I will never get around to reading them- I have dozens here already, sitting unread - I guess I never lost the desire to collect books - but reading is impossible when you keep You Tube hours!
On another note, we have a new router fro our broadband so I can watch videos again- without cursing at the spinny around whirly thing! see you on your channel soon. I bet the okra is already over 5 feet by now. LOL
You are on fire. Beautiful soundscore — listened on headphones for total indulgence. And snap — M-Audio! So much in those dreamy visuals — it's something I love about your work: it's so rich you can come back to it again and again and always discover new things. Instant favourite ;8)
your comment made me sizzle! I am having fun with the software that came with the M-audio midi - it's Ableton LIve - wow- I only wish I had more time - and a more powerful computer. Of course I'd probably NEVER leave my house! LOL
don't get me started. I haven't watched more than a dozen videos in the last two months because our broadband was , well... no band. Fuckas. Just yesterday we received anew router from the dsl company and - voila! I can watch a 3 mintue video in 3 mintues!
Hiya Mother ! your ears must have been burning as I was just saying to myself I mustr swing by your neck of the internet and say howdy. I hope you are well. I miss our more frequent interactions (believe me - it's me who's not been around much! )
I don't think he heard you - why, just the other day I said "God, I could use a million dollars !' and even now when you have given him the solution, no million smackers! LOL
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday my dear friend -and more importantly - a year of health and happiness and peace. Love you xoxo
Aw, love you too! I wish I could do something about the million dollar question though. I seemed to have clout with the election, so I don't get it. ;-)
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I tend to downplay it, but since YT I've never known what to do. I'm making a video about the day though, because it was one of the best birthdays I've had. Lesley, I missed yours. I do feel bad about that, but things are looking up and next year will be different. xox
I always try to consider things from as many points of view as I can, Les, but it never seems as brilliant as this! You've managed to link the fantastic to the commonplace so seamlessly here -- 5*
thank you Liz. When I started the video it had a somewhat more frivolous theme- but I got caught up in the real idea of what *having* perspective means and managed to squeeze in some of those ideas into about a minute and a half - the rest is titles and credits! LOL
what I need right about now is a 100 MPH motorcycle ride- to get the dust and cobwebs off me that have accumulated while I sat here and edited this video! LOL
Being a person with ocd, add and any other initial thingy one can come up with it is terribly difficult for me to be "quiet".
You made me feel "quiet" in the most wonderful way. I watched this amazing 3:30 minutes of time thru calm eyes and you will never know the blessing you just gave me;)
As always Lesley, pure magic with an immense amount of talent;)
There are visions of Art in everything we see each day. The edit here shows vast amounts of creative juice flowing through your head. Bravo is not even close to the level of approval I rate this video Lesley.
The titles alone really got me excited. But I'm easy that way. LOL
I need to get Vegas pro. Your editing is inspiring me. Content is one part. Putting the puzzle together is your Art.
I am having to re-write the last twenty more *brilliant* comments I made as YT had them for breakfast apparently. LOL
My first idea for the video was more from the artistic point of spacial perspective but as I delved more into it the theme veered towards life perspective. At the end I used bird and cat sounds to demonstrate both themes.
I define it as an *insane* amount of time - the combo of a new gadget learning curve, sony vegas, old computer and older eyes makes for some LONG nights!
You really should work on getting some talent hehe:) Excellent! I know secretly that you made this for me on my birthday. I no longer qualify as a boy-toy anymore :( I am kinda hungover today...I remember something about a goat and an interstate...I remember honking and the goat smell. It's not what you just see...it's also what you smell. :)
thanks JoJo! when I was nearly finished with this edit (about the hair-pulling and 'almost- bored- to- death- with- it' stage) I received the new midi controller/keyboard so it doubled the time it took!
I'm sorry if I'm not full of superlatives.. The video is great, but having logged on to YouTube this morning, to be told we no longer will have a say in our own channel design.. well, I rather quit! I DO NOT WANT BETA.. :( I won't close my channel, but after I have posted my next modelling vid, then I'm done on YouTube.. who says fun will last forever? :( I will come back and watch this video when I'm in a better mood, and can appreciate what I see more.. sorry! Not your fault..
I got a message from You Tube a while back about the new channel formats so I tried the new channel look - and switched it right back! I think it's a matter of a learning curve - the Beta testing will cease to be beta when they roll it out to everyone- and so it goes. As long as it's free I will hang around. :)
I was having one of my bad days, as I get from time to time.. :) One thing that annoys me right now though, is that if you make somebody's videos appear in grid-form, they don't run at all if you click on them.. they only show / run if you click on them as they appear on the channelpage.. and that is a nuicanse, as you can't go to somebody's channel and view any of their old stuff, like per say a certain 'smile' video that I watch still, from time to time, even though it was a while ago now.. :)
I tried it again- it's worse on partner channel because they put an ad on the top next to your video which makes the uploaded and favorites section nearly disappear. Sigh....one could thing is that if you go in the scroll box for the uploads or favorites, you can click 'see all' and then scroll thru ALL their videos instead of the old tedious paging system that took ages.... trying to see a silver lining! LOL
Yes, I've tried scrolling, and used nalts channel (Yes, I'm a sinner) as the trial object, as he has over 800 (I think) videos posted.. and the scroll just dissappeared somewhere.. no chance to get to the bottom of things on any channel with MANY videos.. :) Silver lining?? Well, there are some very good features as well, with BETA, but they need to iron out the little nagging irritations.. and there are plenty still.. :P
Some of the words that came to me when watching this video... sublime, exquisite, meticulous, beautiful, graceful and of course, boobies.*
Damn, just when you think your fingers are about to grab that bar (in your own mind), some so-and-so goes and raises the bugger way higher! WAY higher.
*This list is in no particular order and some words may have come to me more than once.
There were no boobies harmed in the making of this film....thank goodness else I'd have made a tit of myself!
The time it took me to work out how to simply *hook up* the midi device you could have listened to every Gary Numan record you have, collected a whole 6 eggs and walked to fetch a fresh supply of coffee towers - thrice!
lovely essay ... i remember the time, place and day that i looked at an attractive woman and saw - for the first time in my life - a person there, living behind all that female "attrezzatura" - what an awakening ... all hail.
Haha, my videos usually go along those lines too. Although they never end up being as cool as yours though. I guess I have much to learn yet. But I'll persist. =]
I like videos with nudity. No matter how fleeting.
Did I miss the point? Damn......
Seriously, one of your best ones yet!

My first idea for the video was more from the artistic point of spacial perspective but as I delved more into it the theme veered towards life perspective. At the end I used bird and cat sounds to demonstrate both themes.
thanks Ben :)

That's pretty amazing stuff! Wow, that must have taken a long time to put together.

I define it as an *insane* amount of time - the combo of a new gadget learning curve, sony vegas, old computer and older eyes makes for some LONG nights!
Thank you :)

VictorTheGr8 2 years ago
I'm glad you were able to decipher that sekrit happy birthday code in the video :)
seroiusly though - you ought to bottle that goat and booze fragrance - it's the kind of smell that makes you feel like a KID again! LOL

thanks JoJo! when I was nearly finished with this edit (about the hair-pulling and 'almost- bored- to- death- with- it' stage) I received the new midi controller/keyboard so it doubled the time it took!
I'm glad you liked it :)

BasicModelling 2 years ago

BasicModelling 2 years ago
I tried it again- it's worse on partner channel because they put an ad on the top next to your video which makes the uploaded and favorites section nearly disappear. Sigh....one could thing is that if you go in the scroll box for the uploads or favorites, you can click 'see all' and then scroll thru ALL their videos instead of the old tedious paging system that took ages.... trying to see a silver lining! LOL
LeSaMilano 2 years ago

BradThunder 2 years ago
There were no boobies harmed in the making of this film....thank goodness else I'd have made a tit of myself!
The time it took me to work out how to simply *hook up* the midi device you could have listened to every Gary Numan record you have, collected a whole 6 eggs and walked to fetch a fresh supply of coffee towers - thrice!
LeSaMilano 2 years ago
That was an amazing sensory feast you had us go thru. Words cannot do it justice.

thank you Danny. I had fun with the audio - the new software that came with the midi controller is *somewhat* addicting. hahaha

lovely essay ... i remember the time, place and day that i looked at an attractive woman and saw - for the first time in my life - a person there, living behind all that female "attrezzatura" - what an awakening ... all hail.

thanks Bill. Funny how the hardware that is meant to attract someone is the very thing that prevents them from getting close enough to look.
