LOL. I just played GT5 Prologue the other day and I crashed solid at a corner a flew a bit but nothing really happened! I feel sorry for the AI car that I blocked. LOL. Same thing happened in Forza but I ended up getting pissed off like $#!+ . Stupid damage system and cars handle too difficult (yeah, I never really tried racing in real life). I rely a lot on the driving lines. You know, the green line that helps you navigate the track. But at least I got the best of both worlds.
Forza > GT in my opinion. GT graphics are better, but Forza graphics come real close. Plus the realism. GT just isnt as realistic. Don't forget custom paint jobs and the xbox live services such as tournaments and auction house. Honestly, I have had so much fun with just the painting of the cars.

I havent tried rFactor. But GT4 is perfect. I actually just did 4 laps earlier today. Drove a rental Audi A3 turbo diesel with all season tires. My 4th lap was my best at 9min30sec. I embarrased a new 911 Turbo heh.

GT uses different camera techniques and wider scenery which also makes the game look more life like. When it comes to car models both games are pretty much equal. I think forza has the gameplay and that's the most important in my opinion.

Forza is far from a true simulator, it's too acradey. The handling is not realistic and they have tricked so many of you into thinking it is. The cars get oversteer way way too easy, they really exagerated it. I have driven many of the cars in the game, and none of them handle realistically.
On the other hand, the cars in GT4, when using the sim tires, handle very very close to real life. GTHD's physics are even better.
Thing I cant stand about Forza is how simple it is to control a slide or save the car when the back end comes out at 100+mph.......it's not realistic. With GT4 when the tail came out at high speed......it was hard to save just like in real life.
What are my credentials? My dad used to race GTP cars, and he taught me. I've done a lot of Karting, done 6 & 12hr endurance races and I've driven the Nurburgring........which by the way is perfect in GT4 but dogshit in Forza.

I would hardly say GTHD is the benchmark for simulators, as calling it a simulator is a joke. Play a Simulator on a PC and you'll understand what I mean.
GT is the measuring stick for all driving simulators...it's the series to beat....GTHD looks better. GT5 will be better....no questions....I've played Forza 1 and GT4, and the Ring, as a comparison, is much batter in GT4...much more "German forest" looking....
60 million dollars is what is being spent on gt5 man... these guys are tyring to make this game as perfect as they can ... it's gonna be epic
