Basically Newt Gingrich was calling him an idiot for not understanding basic finance terms and yet asking questions about his finances. It's revolving because you always have that credit limit (in this case $500,000) but what you owe might be less than that. If you pay it completely off the account is still there, unlike a regular loan. I think it's funny Cenk didn't understand it but no one else had a clue apparently.

@AmericanNohbuddy Most precious gemstones have practical use. You already know about diamonds. Sand from garnets is used in certain industrial mold-making. Sapphires can be used to regulate conductivity of heat & electricity. Those are just a few modern uses. I can't explain why they used them years ago. I imagine they had similar purposes.

Basically Newt Gingrich was calling him an idiot for not understanding basic finance terms and yet asking questions about his finances. It's revolving because you always have that credit limit (in this case $500,000) but what you owe might be less than that. If you pay it completely off the account is still there, unlike a regular loan. I think it's funny Cenk didn't understand it but no one else had a clue apparently.

@AmericanNohbuddy Most precious gemstones have practical use. You already know about diamonds. Sand from garnets is used in certain industrial mold-making. Sapphires can be used to regulate conductivity of heat & electricity. Those are just a few modern uses. I can't explain why they used them years ago. I imagine they had similar purposes.

@AmericanNohbuddy That's to you & me. We're laypeople not industrialists. But they do have industrial uses. I've read about those aforementioned uses; rather derivatives of them, dating back to ancient Egypt.
But you're correct in saying that most people just like the bling.

Man, if I had $500,000, all my living expenses would be covered for a decade or more. The fact that people can blow that much on jewelry and then say they live a frugal life... that sickens me.
