Holy crap this looks horrible. The characters in this intro all look so horribly drawn or fat compared to the originals. The animation and art looks quickly put together which is a huge fail. Late 80s and early 90s anime really went the extra mile when it came to detail compared to crap like this.

The intro for the original looks better animated and drawn, and it's already 21 years old! And it's song by friggin' Ichirou Mizuki, which takes it to the next level of super robot awesomeness.

No Kungfu is right, Ideon was a miserable show in my thoughts, TTGL is probbly one of the best giant mecha shows out there.

TTGL is an excellent show but if you toss out other shows for going in a different direction, in an equal or perhaps better way then I pity you. Ideon did something very different. I enjoyed it and what it did it did well.  It was not a super fest because that was not what the series meant to do.
