These things happen in racing, as you don't REALLY expect a bus to come straight at a wall... but it happens, too. I go to the Sportsdrome often in Indiana, and not a month or two ago we saw four people hospitalized for an accident that has no effective way of being stopped, and really didn't beforehand since no one really thought of it. ((A car climbed the guardrail and fell into the entrance, flipping onto an official and hitting a couple others.))
Shit if this happened at the short track I go to, people would be killed! At the short track I go to, there are no walls in the turns, just big dirt embankments. Last year I worked on a Sportsman division car, and twice last year cars went up the embankments and smashed the fence in front of us. One time involved another Sportsman car in practice (which I have video of!) The other involved a 4-cylinder division car. Now if it was a bus... OUCH!
I was there... I was hit by the concrete pellets... I say the toyota bus did it on purpose... I have front view of it ... seeing as it happened right in front of me... But I am going back... I do thank God for the fence if it weren't for it we would be dead... it did it's job... I hold the bus driver accountable.....
he didnt do it on purpose, when he rear ended him, the white buses bumper got stuck under the other buses real bumper...i was there, that was our friend in the white bus
having been to CMS many times, lets face it, if the Nuckles family would re-inforced the catch-fense, nobody wouldve been hurt.this is something that shouldve been done years ago.
i don't think the bus race needs to be banned. the drivers need to be more responseable when they are racing. i know there are going to be crashes, but to take a bus an crash another bus into the wall like that is not cool.and for someone to thank it was, you might not feel that way if someone you know and love was a victim of a crash like that
there is only this to consider: if the wall is not strong enough to contain the cars that are racing, They need not be racing school buses. Would you be saying the same thing, if the bus had completely gone through, and ended up killing 20 people in their seats?
Racetracks are not built (on the local level) to contain a 20k pound bus moving at 60 mph . they simply arent.

fyi 2 the bashers: my father & i, who r both race fans & pit crew, agree that the wall of this track seems low. while we havent been 2 the track b4, judging by comparison 2 the busses & trucks the wall is lower than most. ive never heard of anything like this happening until the other night, & ill say it b4 ne1 asks, im 18. my dad is 51 & has never heard of anything like this happening. basically, what im trying to say is that there is no reason for this fun event or others like it 2 be banned.
true but columbus has a lot of acc and need to do someting be for it kills some one like make the wall taller i think and i am on a pit crew to what do u race
@Taps1995 you saw it on the news..... I was there. at least 10 bodies on the floor and I found out that 15 people injured and a guy had a heart attack.

the Germain Bus was being driven by SPEED TV's pit reporter Ray Dunlap, so maybe the guy that rammed him didn't like him.
