i never quite understood why the Main Street Singers sang "Never Did No Wonderin' " when it was the Folksmen's song. i assume they did it because they didn't like The Folksmen? I hope someone can explain this. Also i hope someone can post the Main Street Singers singing "Do What The Good Book Tells You To"
I am guessing that the song was supposed to be a "real" folk song, written long ago by someone else, and it really didn't "belong" to the Kingsmen OR the NMS Singers. I think that each of the 2 groups never thought that the other group would be performing it so they didn't consult each other.
I love how talented all the actors are in this movie (and all Christopher Guest movies, but particularly how they can sing so well!), and I also love how everyone who was in Spinal Tap is in the Folksmen.
@almografen I heard him say in an interview that he's all the authority figures and Christians. He's Skinner, Flanders, Mr. Burns, Smithers, Kent Brockman, Dr Hubbard and a couple more I can't think of right now.
Can someone please post the out-take from the DVD of the Folksmen playing their electric song "Children of the Sun" from their failure concept album "Saying Something"????
Always remember however, that the New Main Street Singers have their following as well and some of them would disagree with you on that. Just my opinion.
THE FOLKSMEN, if you will.
I will. How about you?

I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be a Folkmen's song and the New Main Street Singers just covered it.

evelau: yes it is a song by the folksmen and then the main street singers stole it and sang it at the live show :o)

The bassist sounds a lot like Principal Skinner!
EchoCannon89 3 years ago
That's because he is, EchoCannon89. Along with Kent Brockman, Reverend Lovejoy, Mr. Burns, Mr. Smithers, and the bassist from Spinal Tap
oggendoggen2 3 years ago
I'm aware of that, his Skinner voice and this one sound similar to me
