Everyone says that the Machines are acting inefficient and pointing out better strategies... but nobody really gets why they're taking their time. Casualties mean nothing, those are bots, more will be made. The thing is, they're taking so long because destroying Zion isn't the end goal. If it was, they could just drill through and drop a low-yield hydrogen bomb. The point behind taking their time is so they can give Neo and the Architect time to discuss the future of mankind.

The only question I had was how the rest of the APUs lasted that long after the tower was destroyed. Matter of fact, the machines could have cleared the dock with far less losses if they wouldn't have swarmed. Its harder to hit and kill 100,000 individual sentinels taking evasive action than a singular massive swarm.

The architect said they were becoming increasingly efficient at destroying Zion. If that was the case the dock shoulda been cleared within a minute or two with the right approach.

@a50745 Agreed. They were behaving like fish where they shoal up as a defense, though they should be swarming everything like a zerg rush. I mean at 2:26 they all should just split up and surrounded the guy. Unless by more efficient, sentinels were far dumber back then lol. Though I've never really watched the matrix, so you make the call xD

For all who don't seem to understand...

The EMP that was used inside of Zion was a last resort. Their captain had died, the sentinels were swarming by what I think is in the thousands, and their main battle tower got knocked to crap.

In the second renaissance, the machines were solar powered. They may run on energy still, but not electricity. The Nuke EMP's are useless in that situation. The heat from the nukes were probably renderred useless by some future-material they discovered.

Isn't it because machines have energy due to them being solar powered which gives them electricity? isn't technology that allows us to capture sunlight electricity too? The One is someone who won't accecpt The Matrix... and there were 5 "Ones" before Neo... every time it takes longer to find The One, and every time The Architect fixes the bug in the system, but never completely...
