her timbre is as bright as a lyric soprano. the only thing that gives away that she's a mezzo is the long chest register. had I only her top register, I would definitely have assumed soprano

A very underrated great singer. There are many beautiful renditions of this on Youtube. Fassbaender is a total artist. She has a gorgeous flowing legato and complete control of her instrument. I love this!
