  • I hope this helps prevent any more exchange student victimization. They deserve better. They deserve our best. Please spread the word. World Heritage should cease and desist before they do any more damage to our reputation with families around the world.

  • ...for politely choosing not to attend church some 20 hours per week. I have no doubt that most of these programs are upstanding, professional, and courteous, but the officials at World Heritage are incompetent, inconsiderate, and disrespectful. They fail repeatedly to ensure even the most basic protections for their exchange students, and when the student's situation proves dire, they are completely inept at attempting to right their obvious and careless blunders.

  • I would like it to be known that World Heritage is one of these programs that offers international students the chance to live with an American family. Not only did they place an exchange student in a home with a cantankerous old woman with zero patience who kicked the student out of her home within days (the same woman who had 2 WH exchange students removed from her home 6 months before), they dragged their feet for 6 months before placing the student in another family who kicked her out...

  • Does anybody know if all Passport Offices are at the Postal Office? Why is it at the Post Office and not at a Pass Port Department inside a Proper Building with Investigators.

    A. Why is it US Department of State when it's International.

    B. Are All International Flights Checked (Pass Book) .

    C. Are all documented on Computer. The System must show 'entry' and 'leaving'.

    D. Is there an International Criminal Records (Warrant) System?

  • I support her message, but she looks like she's about to pull out a knife and stab the viewer. XD

  • I have been a foreign exchange student through CHI and had a great time but some people just shouldn't even concider hosting students.

  • I'd love to speak to anyone about our family's personal experience hosting students from other countries. We have "sons" and "daughters" from Spain, France, Germany, Italy, China, Hong Kong, Turkey, Brazil, and Norway. My husband and I believe in it and love it so much we now work with Education, Travel and Culture as student managers. We still have a number of awesome students waiting for homes so please get in touch if you have questions or would like to learn more!! nwhitlock@edutrav.org

  • It is good to help students, but problem is that many Americans do not possess cross-cultural communication skills. We live in the bad world. I hosted Americans late 1980s before the USSR collapsed. I am Christian and I believe help and love is important. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in America. America has many good people, but there are also ... I was so disappointed I dropped out college. I wasted my money and my time. Colleges want students for income, not for friendship. Stay home:-)

  • God she has really aged in this video!

  • Great video. New Horizon's student exchange program is doing amazing things in this area. Check out the website newhorizonsus com

Being a host family is extrememly rewarding.

  • I think it's wonderful of her to encourage people to do something like that. I did host a lot of students from many different schools in Massachusetts and I have 2 videos on youtube about that great program.

  • What an awesome message from a woman leader I admire and look up to. Very well said Hillary Clinton!

  • U know I'm really scared sh@tless whenever I see that lady.

  • @wulfbooy maybe because you are a terrorist, that's the only one who should be scared of her.

  • We host 2 students. We highly recommend exchange - students and their families are great and a positive influence on our children. Research exchange companies BEFORE you sign up - our only negative experience has been with the host company. At a minimum -it will cost about $6,000 per year per student out of YOUR pocket for food, gas, and utilities (without extras like eating out or trips). They are active teenagers that can't drive themselves. They need parents not just a bed and meals.

  • What an ugly woman

    inside and outside

  • The Wolf in sheeps clothing

  • I've been an exchange student in the United States,in Indiana, with YOUTH FOR UNDERSTANDING two years ago.And it was a live changing experice with still influences me and my life,in a very positiv way I couldn't agree more,by say that a year abroad made me a better person, gave me a different view on life itself and the world as a whole as one community.Let's move colser togehther by exchanging lifestyles and cultures.Let's make this earth a better and maybe more understanding and peaceful world!

  • It is wonderful to see the support that American families and other countries give to the youth of today! Both my children are third cultured kids and have had so many amazing experiences living around the world. It had opened their eyes to diversity and knowledge of other Global cultures. As an expat kid living in Africa, I too realize that is it so important for us to understand and embrace other nationalities. Well done and thank you Secretary Hillary Clinton for your continuing support.

  • I was an exchange student to Japan in June. My family is hosting a Japanese student next month. :D

  • It's really nice of her to make this video.

But this video reminds me the homeland security officer at the SFO. I said "yep" to his question, and he asked me if I learned to show repect back in Korea. He was very hateful to me. He said I had to say "yes" but it's common mistake from sb who doesn't speak english as first language. It was very first impression of USA to me. He didn't necessarily have to be hateful to do his job. Don't get me wrong. I know there are many good people out there.

  • @kaliuv It's not hateful to teach you manners.

  • @lostalex77 You wouldn't go "Did you ever learn how to show respect back in Korea?" when you teach "manners".

  • @exchangesvideo Hillary is spot on...I was a YFU exchange student in Switzerland back in 1985...Twenty seven years later, we're very close...my host sister is my daughter's god-mother...plus, they taught me how to ski in the Alps...Hillary rocks it.

  • Joining the AFS exchange program was the best decision I ever took. It really changed my life and made me the person I am today.

  • Thank you so much for your support.

  • Our family has been hosting exchange students with Youth for Understanding since 2000. In that time we have hosted 5 students from around the world and our son made an exchange to Ecuador. It is a great experience! You will learn about the world in a way that you never could by just visiting another country.

Share your home, change the world.

  • Great message! Thank you for doing this. We will post it on our 4-H website. States' 4-H International Exchange Programs hosts youth from all over the world and sends American youth to other countries.

  • @chrismkerper Chris, it was great to talk with you this evening. We did contact Aletia. Again, let us know how it goes for you and let us know if you continue to have the school problems. We will not let those girls be disappointed.

  • @chrismkerper I wonder why the home school has any say in an open enrollment, can you check with the District? I've never heard of another school impeding enrollment outside of their school.

  • Nice.

  • Many American families know of the opportunity to host a foreign exchange student, but have not yet taken the step to host. At NWSE we hope that Ms. Clinton's message encourages the volunteer spirit in American families to become part of the tradition of a global community through hosting. Many tens of thousands of families have enjoyed hosting foreign exchange students over the decades. We thank the Secretary of State for publically promoting cultural exchange.

  • anyone interested in taken a exchange student please call me, if these remaining kids dont have a host family by aug 25th they will not be able to come for the school year, 330 204 6748

  • Wow- this is the first speech I've heard from Hillary that didn't make my skin crawl. I'm really looking forward to hosting a young student from Germany but I must admit wincing when I first saw Hillary's picture associated with AYA.

  • Thank you for encouranging and supporting. My family and I will host a student from Germany this comming school year.

  • I am so glad Hilary Clinton is promoting student exchange. My family hosted a lot when I was growing up and since having my own kids, my husband and I have hosted 7 students. It's been really wonderful. We've had the opportunity to travel and visit out exchange children over the years too. It has been enriching for us and life changing for our students. We have hosted through a few different organizations. AYUSA is a really good one. That's where out last 4 kids have come through.

  • Great Message. I was an exchange student 22 years ago to France with Youth For Understanding. This experience has led me to a lifelong commitment to YFU and high school exchange. It is truly an experience of a lifetime and I encourage every family to share their homes and make a difference not only in their own family's lifves but in that of an international teenager as well. yfuusa.org

  • Wonderful, timely appeal! For almost 50 years, Amity Institute is depending on the generosity of volunteer host families who open their doors and hearts to international university students assisting American teachers in the foreign language classrooms.

  • FESLady. I think it was very nice of Senator Clinton to give us a positive endorsement. I am the proud host mother of 9 sons from all over the world and a Local Coordinator for iE-USA.

  • Peace in our world starts one student, family and community at a time. AFS (formerly American Field Service) has been a part of our life since I was an exchange student to India in 1974, sent two of our children to Costa Rico and New Zealand and hosted sons and daughters from New Zealand, Mexico, Finland, Norway, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland. All have remained in close contact. They will always be the children of our hearts. HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT AND CHANGE THE WORLD.

  • We hosted with EF Foundation for Foreign Study last year and had a wonderful experience. We are awaiting our next student's arrival in 3 weeks. EF has fantastic support both at the local level with our IEC and through their Boston office. I salute Secretary Clinton for her comments and encourage more Americans to host!

  • I have worked with iE-USA for several years and have supervised countless wonderful students. I always say that if everyone hosted a student just one time, the world would be a much better place.
