  • This man's legacy is a great one. If this concert was given in the US, there would have been SRO.

  • Thank you for this upload!

  • @NatashaTheremin "... [Moog]" That is a very interesting comment, indeed, Natasha!

  • Leon Theremin was over ninety years old when this clip was filmed! Yes, the audio/visual quality is not great but it is an important and unique archival treasure nevertheless. The instruments Leon Theremin made himself were always provided with a timbre control (something we do not find on the RCA). The timbre he is using in this performance is reminiscent of the hollow, reed-like sound of the ondes. Many people prefer it to the standard vocal sound we usually hear from thereminists.

  • It's a shame to have such a poor audio setup. The instruments sounds like a rusty trombone...

  • Thank you Master Termen for your legacy. :-)

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful performance of Lev Termen playing Glinka's SKYLARK. This is one of the compositions he played for Vladimir Ilyich Lenin in March of 1922, and which inspired Lenin to send Lev and his new invention, the theremin, to America.

It is always inspiring and very moving to see this remarkable genius playing the instrument that has enriched the lives of so many of us.
