I saw your comments on a chinese instrument video (pipa). It's not so hard to switch from guitar to pipa. if you have chance to get a pipa, i'm sure you will learn fast:) left hand is easier than guitar's, but right hand's techniques are more complex.

I play chinese instrument, liu qin, which is similar to but smaller and less fancy than pipa, played with a pick. and i play a little bit guitar as well.
