  • beautiful!

  • I only learned about this guy today. And I'm sorry I didn't know about him before now.

Awesome music, and a great stage presence.

  • a beautiful song that I have taken from my youth to my middle age...Jobriath was the best...

  • this is well good.

    until you read the lyrics.

    then i pissed my pants

    "berrrrrrrrrrrrr-ingggggggggggggggg-ing meeeeeeeeeeeeee teeeeeeeeeeeeea"

LMFAO its Anthony Bowie Laughing Gnome David Newley all over.

anway before all the Jobraith freaks go garratty - i didnt write the fuckin' lyrics did i,and its still a cool song, i am not saying

  • For those ripping hard on Jobriath for being too close to Bowie keep in mind that Bowie lifted *heavily* from both Anthony Newly and Scott Walker so its not like Bowie himself fell to the earth (no pun intended) fully formed.

  • Royston Langdon (Space Hog) copped a lot from Jobriath vocally. The comparison IMHO is uncanny.

  • Sounds like a cross between David Bowie and Marc Bolan.

  • The backward reverb on the voice is done by bouncing the track backwards with the effect on it. This always sounds cool and interesting, worth buying a reel to reel multitrack to do it.

  • my sister lisa and i would always go downtown to the record store, spend our lifesavings every month, and buy an album, we were 15 and 13 yrs old.We saw the album, turned the cover, and bought. I think from then on , we luved music, yes and then came kiss lol, audience too good one

  • Morrissey love jobriath

  • Thanks for that info on ecubyans. I'd always wondered about the derivation! This is one of my faves by Jobriath. A friend of mine has piano sheet music to it. I'll try and persuade him to upload an instrumental performance!

  • Wasn't so much of a comeback as it was an explanation. I'm sorry I don't like Jobriath and saying rude things about him, but quite honestly, I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to music. So there's no need for angry remarks.

  • Did... did you miss the part where I said that I didn't mean to offend anyone who likes him? Did you skip over that bit? Dude, I like the Pussycat Dolls. What the fuck do I know?

  • you don't like the pussycat dolls, you like their tits.

  • K.... listen up.... any REAL MUSICIAN will tell U that Jobriath's material is much more refined and classically structured than Bowie's. I mean... cmon America, he was OURS, be proud we had such a rare talent. every musician I have introduced to Jobriath's music has to agree that MUSICALLY, it is far superior to what Bowie was doin on in 1974. My band is covering "ImmaMan" and "Inside" from his first EP.... and the songs are wonderful to play, and are very tastefully arranged. JOBRIATH 4EVER

  • fuck all of you you're all idiots ..

    .jerry brandt

  • well said Jerry

  • There is room for both Bowie AND Jobriath. They both made a massive impact in 1974 through their own patricular ways of presenting their songs but musically their material had their own identity. No solo artist has a finer body of work than Bowie but Jobriath also made his own impression during his brief time in the limelight, before he became another music industry victim. His music still gets a reaction and he'd rather have that than be consigned to bland MOR radio stations for eternity!

  • @Dinkba

Bowie pissed me off for turning into soul man, during the Diamond Dogs tour. Jobriath kept the glam Bowie going.

  • @MattDrumBat I'm with you I showed up to see Bowie - one of my first concerts as a 13 year old expecting to see Ziggy and yeah - those songs did NOT go along with his new image. boy was I dissapointed. I guess you could say it was the end of glitter daze...

  • What is this song about? I had to check the lyrics, cause it just didn't make much sense to me. I do think it is a lovely and funny song, in a way. ;D What is Ecubyan, anyway?

  • One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. So tender as dark, is our infance in the jaws of our mortality...
