  • oh they got their gold medal. in the form of the pulitzer prize in music.

  • I think it's Barber because I met Jennifer and she said she got a lot of inspiration from Barber's violin concerto.

  • I heard Hilary Hahn perform this piece last night with Jaap van Zwedon and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and it was spectacular...she was spectacular. She is technically amazing with a musicality that is captivating and a tone that enchants.

  • @n5cbi I saw her too! I agree she was absolutely spectacular. I got to meet her after the concert! Did you?

  • I recently heard Hahn playing Higdon's Concerto and it was simply amazing.

  • this makes me really want to hear higdon's concerto!!! Where can we hear it?

  • Jennifer Higdon is by far the greatest living composer alive. :D And Hilary Hahn has got to be the greatest violinist. When they meet, magic happens!

  • What about John Williams? :P

  • Behzad Ranjbaran is my favorite living composer. Listen to his Persian Trilogy. And John Williams is definitely my favorite living film composer and probably the best film composer, but film music is incomparable to concert music.

  • I actually think that Arvo Pärt or Einojuhani Rautavaara is the greatest living composer.

  • I love your music. :) It's truly an inspiration. And it's so wonderful that you're ready to step forward to share your personality trough youtube and trough your journal as a happy young human being and not just as a music icon. You have the capability to make people blossom (with soulful Bach f.ex.). Respect. Wish you could come to perform in Finland. :)

  • i was at that indianapolis concert!!! i was in the back, i stood up and clapped for you when you came on stage :))) love you both!!!

  • Great interview, thanks to Hilary and Jennifer!

  • I enjoyed this very much. Thanks for posting.

  • What did she say at 1:43? The Bruch concerto?

  • or the Berg? I can't tell lol

  • Britten, I think.

  • I heard sibelius.

  • Great interview.

Hope you will record it soon.
